The staff - front desk and Op Support is excellent, Mon - Sat (not there on Sun)
Training Staff - My trainer is fantastic - very knowledgeable and encouraging
Locker room - Easy access and like the lockers
Equipment - Absolutely luv the cross-train area on lower level (excellent). Upper level area is great also
Appreciate the music played overhead and the tv monitors
Parking always available
Please don’t allow guests to use their phone while in the workout rooms. Some people are on their phone while on the equipment and it’s not only distracting but they end up taking more time on the equipment because they’re not paying attention to their workout.
The people are great but when will the facility ever be updated? Or at least not have water falling from the ceiling. There have been structural issues for well over a year now. Time to fix it!
The restrooms and showers have been closed for months now. It’s hard to believe that a remodeling that was scheduled to be finished within a month has turned into 3+
I had to change my routine drastically and stop swimming since the showers don’t work.
Also the equipment is outdated and tired-looking whereas the marketing presents these clubs as cutting edge.
The managers are excellent people but tied up in what they can do. And this is a problem generated by the corporate impersonal structure of all genesis clubs.
It has everything needed to have a successful workout.
I have filled this survey out previously, as I do care about Genesis and want to see the Hickman location where I attend, do well.
I do think that the front desk staff are better trained and pay a bit more attention to what they are to do and how they are to help guests. So that has improved.
What continues to be challenging is the following:
1. Equipment that is broken, ripped, dangerous, and needs to be replaced. It does not get fixed or replaced.
2. Cleanliness is still a big issue. This includes the work out area, the bathrooms and the tennis courts.
3. The leaks that have caused buckets and towels to block a normal walking path through the facility. This is not something that will draw new members to the facility. And us old members wish that there would be the commitment and the respect for your members, to get it repaired or purchase a new roof, or whatever is causing the problem.
4. I don't want to continue to have to tell people that yes, Genesis has promised to..... and just does not follow through. People do know that significant resources have been directed towards other Genesis facilities, but not the Hickman location. I think that you know how to make it right, and when you choose to do it, you will become more credible.
The ceiling is falling down. The tv in the locker room needs an extension cord. Clock in the woman's room is missing. Bikes need fixing. The cleaning bottles are empty a lot or I cannot find one. Some of these these are minor & simple fixes, but can make members happy. I like the instructors & members, but feel management is letting the place fall apart. COVID & the flu will always be with us. Why can’t we always have cleaning bottles.
One of the things that drew me to what was first Sky Fitness was the professional atmosphere. I also liked the fact that you didn't have music that blasting out everyone's ear drums. Some gyms are so loud should you see a friend you could not talk to them unless you left the building. There was never a reason to have the music up that loud.
I would encourage you to maintain the professional atmosphere you have. That helps set you apart from other fitness centers. The truth is there is never a reason to have the music up loud, because no one is listerning to it. Everyone has their airpods in. The only music needed is to have some in the background.
Please do not lose your professional atmosphere, or I would have to look for another fitness center. You do not need to be like the rest of them.
Always clean, always friendly, always willing to answer questions and help you in your fitness goals and health concerns.
There are areas of the club that are in disrepair for the membership dues we pay. We’ve been waiting for months for the locker room to be completed with no access to the showers and now the toilets. I realize that it takes some time, but there were many, many days when no workers were there and the date has been continually pushed back. The chairs in the lobby and look very shabby. Lightbulbs on the courts take a very long time to get replaced. Membership is awfully expensive to not access to all the the facilities

Air conditioning in lockerroom not working for weeks at a time, faucet in lockerroom broken and hanging out for weeks, broken equipment not repaired, torn upholstery on benches not addressed.

Friendly people & modern facilities & good maintenance.
This gym has done a 360 degree turn around since Nick and his crew have taken over. It is now a really nice club. I've taken up tennis thanks to Whitney, my special needs son has had personal training with Weston and the gym is clean, well organized, friendly and a pleasure to come to. This place is now wonderful!
I have been a long time member of this club--over 25 yrs. The club is not as clean, the equipment, esp. the spin bikes, are not well-maintained. The Sat. cycle class @ 9 was abruptly cancelled. This has been a very long time, well-attended class. I am quite disappointed.

I've spent nearly $2500 at the club since joining. . I've responded to text messages that have been sent out, and have been told that someone would be reaching out to me, but it seems that was a lie, just like the email requesting this survey claiming that you are 100% committed to meeting the needs of our members.
Getting frustrated with no hot water. I will not be a member long if they don't get it fixed!
Private spa in locker room and pool access.
Really wish they wouldn’t of walled up the dry sauna or at least replaced it.
The men's locker room is in very. much need of an update. It is kind of embarrassing for me to invite my friends. The part that has been redone is great but the shower area is terrible,
To list a few;
-it’s Russian roulette in the spin room on wether you will hop on a bike that works. I know these issues have been shared with staff but there is no effort to fix them or at least indicate which bikes work or what problems exist on each bike.
-multiple times we planned a trip to the pool for happy hour to find it closed or not staffed correctly.
-multiple times the pool was shut down or had it’s chemicals off.
-there is typically an issue with the heater in the pool or the hot tub is closed.
-there has been limited workout towels in the club
I understand times are tough, staffing is limited but I feel like we (the clients) are being told that the gym is being updated but see no results or progress. Please just communicate with us on the plans, what we should expect, why things aren’t progressing. It feel like the place is falling apart and our rates are just going to keep escalating.
I appreciate this gym and the people who work hard every day, but it’s time for improvement or communication on the plan to improve.
Lessons, pool
Since I have grandchildren, they are the most important reason whenever I’m choosing a Gym. Genesis rock rd. Isn’t children friendly. Children/teens loves pools but the indoor pool is just a lap-pool and direct to adult exercises. No fun for kids. The outdoor pools are a disaster! They are great in size (3 pools) , but they are falling apart!. I took my kids one time and they got sick because the water didn’t looks clean ( I should not allowed them in ). The inside floors of the pool cut their toes whenever they walked ( they have to pickup their feet all the way up in order to not get cut, and the outside floors, around the pools are very unleveled that you better wear shoes when walking around/ out of the pools. The hand bars to get out are shifty and get out of place. The roof of the gazebo ( main building) is falling down. The bathrooms are too small and disgusting and old. I can’t believe that Genesis have this kind of issues with this facilities. We can’t afford two memberships ( Genesis and the y ) , since the Y is more complete and family oriented. The only reason we still here is because my husband is working with the best trainer. But we have to do something different because in winter we have to have a place to take the kids to the pool.
You had recommend to us the new Goddard facility and we aren’t going to drive 40 minutes every time we want to have fun! The reason we choose this facility in Rock Rd is because initially looks nice and is close to our house.

Clean and welcoming
The gym director does a good job managing the gym but needs more corporate funds to make improvements to the gym. It seems corporate wants to make the gym unusable so the member would upgrade to use the other gyms in Omaha. This is due to the wet sauna and the hot tub breaking down. When the hot tub breaks down it looks so disgusting it will cause a health code violation. Not to mention only 4 good showers having temperature control on any given time. The other showers have knob on it due to constantly running water 24/7. When the gym is busy the guys have to do a prison shower ration due to the shortage of working shower. Not to mention some showers are scolding hot and have no way of turning down the temperature. Which an un expecting victim can get burned. Sue the gym for not having a warning, saying showers maybe scolding hot!
