It’s fine but still could use a deep clean and repair on some equipment.
It’s definitely going down hill. The a/c has not been working all summer and now the fans in the fitness room are out too. It’s actually ridiculous. BT, the manager is clearly overwhelmed by the situation either that or he honestly doesn’t care.
Ironic that I’m getting this feedback card today because BT flew off the handle and actually yelled at a client today! He said “Don’t bark at me” and when I confronted him about the way he spoke to a client he fully backed himself by saying “my mom doesn’t talk to me that way.”
Well BT this isn’t your mamas house!
I just simply responded that “while I don’t speak that way but when spoken too I also do t respond that way.”
A lot of us have been here since before the buy out, 10+ years.. And If it weren’t for our friends who are instructors there and the classes they teach and we love. There would be a mass exodus. And honestly if I’d doesn’t change soon. There is talks of it happing. South Tulsa is family and I’d hate for us to need to find a new house.
Too many people in the weight room.
Not enough benches.
No evening spin or yoga classes. What is being done with the empty space where the golf simulator business used to be? That would make a great spin and yoga studio.
No air conditioning for over a month and it’s 100 degrees outside. Broken equipment all the time. Very dirty gym. Steam room rarely ever works.
You continually have no towels available. Everytime I have used the Restroom there isn't any toilet paper.
The outdoor tennis courts look like they have been bombed from left over artillery from the Ukraine war.
On the website specifically for Tara post the volume of numbers by time so that a person can try and go when it is less busy
Love the classes, but sometimes the locker room runs out of towels, soap, and shampoo. Things have improved greatly since before summer. I also feel compared to the other steam rooms (men) at the other gyms Souths seems broken in some way. Not sure if it need maintenance or a new system, but would love to see that updated to keep up with Fort Collins club's.
I think your price is somewhat high. I also have asked several times about adding table tennis tables to the club and no one seems interested in even talking about it. I assume that is because it is not on the Genesis list of activities you would support. Why not? You frequently have court space that is unused.
Nothing at this time
This gym is very clean. The equipment is evenly spaced out to avoid crowding and bumping into people. However it can get a little overcrowded at certain times of the day.
Renovations are nice and equipment is well kept. Some ego and attitude lifters there but you tend to block them out. Decent vibe of the gym and price is average for what you get.
Have hand sanitizer readily available in many places around the club. The current wall mount dispensers are usually out or non functioning which is a bad look. This used to be well done but the club has moved backwards which is a bad look.
There are so many things I like about Genesis. The atmosphere is very friendly and helpful. You get a personal trainer for three seasons when you join. The pool, hot tub, steam room is wonderful. I tried a yoga class with Sonya and she was wonderful.
My only concern with this facility is the condition of the showers.
get the equipment repaired faster
Variety
We like the people, the pool, using equipment to stay in shape, the classes, like pilates.
Employees that know there job.
Treadmills are dated and belts skip and boards are super loud, plus the tv’s don’t always work. Some ellipticals in front row are dated and needing repair. Lockers by basketball court are needing repair.
I like the overall environment of the club. It is clean, peaceful and the people there are always very welcoming and friendly.
Always crowded, machines are constantly broken, locker rooms are dirty and uncleanliness.
It takes for ever to get stuff fixed. I have asked and asked about getting new bikes downstairs and that still hasn’t happened. The place is dirty and needs to be cleaned and painted to make it nicer. It is even dirty when you come in at 5 or 6 in the morning. Stuff laying everywhere which shows me that it isn’t cleaned at night. Machines are broken and take weeks to fix. The pads when they get refinished the machines are down for weeks. The old company used to have someone come and take the pads off one or two machines at a time and fix them same day. Place is run down. Put some money into it.
The toilet area of the 103rd street gym is a bit of a mess. Consider high resolution cameras in the parking lots so smash and grab criminals can be caught.
The pool is often not maintained well. Debris on the bottom of the pool and the reservation policy is stressful. Plus for lap swimmers, the water is too hot. I wish there could be a bit more compromise in the water temperature like they do at the Y.
Indoor and outdoor pools
Build a bigger better facility.
Variety of equipment
Poor maintenance of the facility.
Falls short on caring for members' comfort and experience in the club
Filthy and tons of broken machines. Fix the little things like cup holders on cardio machines and the little shelf to hold a phone.
