Speed, competence and friendliness of technicians
Service was great. The technician was fantastic. Your price for the replacement part was out of line. The price quoted for the part I needed was $675. I could get the same part online for $380. I saw prices ranging online from $380 to $520. You were $100 more than the most expensive option I could find. I would have had Standard do the work, had the part price been more reasonable. $500 and under would have been much more palatable.

When I called to request an appointment I explained that I needed two things done. One was a service checkup on two forced air furnaces we have in the house. We just bought the home earlier this year so we wanted to get an opinion on how they were working and/or if we needed to plan for a replacement etc. We were told that the appointment was not for a checkup but rather to determine what was wrong with the furnaces. There was nothing wrong. So other than taking a quick look and listening to them for a few seconds nothing was done. The other thing I called about was finding out what would need to be done to upgrade the venting of an existing pool heater and whether we could upgrade the venting to accommodate a 200,000 btu heater. We did find out that we would only be able to put in a 150,000 btu pool heater under the current venting situation but we were told to find out how much it would be to upgrade the venting so we could install a 200,000 btu heater would require a separate appointment with a standard H&AC "estimator". We scheduled an appt.with the estimator for December 12th. So in essence he confirmed one piece of information which I already knew , i.e. we were limited to a 150,000 btu heater without an upgrade to the venting. That cost us $99 and three hours off of work. We will see how things go with the estimator. I'm assuming there will not be another charge for that appointment.
