I have been trying to figure out what type of shoe works best for me for the past year since I have a wider foot. I religiously wore Brooks Ghosts - 10 through 13- but the 14 changed so dramatically that I switched to Hokas. Tried a few models but none of them felt right, so after more research went to Altras. This all said, the knowledgeable staff is worth going to a Fleet Feet store. The lady who helped me (wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out :-) ), not only knew what shoe I wanted (Altra Torin 7 wide) but she also knew how the shoe evolved and improved from the previous version and how they differed from other brands. To be able to share her experiences with this newer shoe was pivotal in my purchase. Second, the store had items in stock so I could try them on right there and eventually I purchased a shirt to go with my shoes. There are other “running” stores in the area, but I’ve found the staff at those stores are inexperienced and don’t understand the nuances of different brands. Overall, my Fleet Feet experience gained a customer for life. I highly recommend this store!
Had a wonderful greeting as I walked in the door and was matched with someone to help. They measured my foot and asked specific questions to match me with the perfect shoe. Wonderful service from start to finish!

Ive been suffering from feet and ankle problems since about 15 days after skiing at Snowshoe. I dont know that there is a connection but I was desperate and I knew where to go even though I havent been in one of your stores in years. I was not disappointed at all. the gentleman that worked me through the process was engaged and polite as well as knowledgable. As was the initial employee interaction. He set me up with a pair of gelnimbus. I might not have gotten the color I wanted this time but I am no doubt floating on air and feet are enjoying some much needed relief.
Gaviota is very supportive shoe. The sales person was very helpful. The return policy sold me on your store instead of another close by store.

with arch and heel support. Clerk knew which brands would fit my foot best. I can return them within 2 months if the fit is not correct!
