Member Testimonials
I love the heated outdoor pool and friendly staff.
Location and the ease of getting in and out. Size of the workout area
I enjoy the classes, especiallly the aqua aerobics.
However, the inside pool maintenance is lacking. The stainless perimeter, drains and lane dviders are building up a gray scum. It is most unappealing and potentially unhealthy.
There are also sewer flies in the upstairs ladies showers.
These are things can be easily remedied.
Great staff, community environment and I love the classes!
Instructors
The instructors are professional, knowledgeable and some make exercising fun! The staff is friendly and helpful! The environment is clean & welcoming! The social interactions are fabulous! The YMCA has incentives to keep us engaged!
Very friendly staff and the members are super nice.
The facilities, staff and mutually supportive environment.
The Thrive classes
Overall, the experience is good except the app. It is slower than the previous email app.
Friendly staff. Making connections with those who come at the staff.

Staff, location, amenities.
I enjoy the variety of classes and equipment, the pools, especially the fact that the outdoor pool is heated. I hope this coming year it will be open more days during the week for the membership to use. It is great to see persons of all ages at the Y. Staff is very friendly.

Classes
I'm a senior. Finley is a place where seniors can find excellent fitness classes and caring professional, knowledgeable & fun instructors. The facilities are spacious and clean. Staff members are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The programming offers great opportunities for socializing as well as exercise, though It would be nice if there were more Thrive classes offered. It's sometimes difficult to get in classes but most of the time I can get in.
I switched to the YMCA when my branch of Rex Wellness closed in November 2024. I still miss the RW set up which had a different kind of good energy with smaller classes than Finley and a more personal touch and RW was a bit quieter than the Y. But part of the charm of Finley is all the activity and happy people, children and adults.
Community, great water classes, proximity , friendly staff.
My Granddaughter has loved coming for the past few years! Fun counselors, activities and special camp weeks with field trips.

YMCA AE Finley Feedback
AE Finley is the location I originally joined through, and over time it has truly become my favorite. It’s the one location that consistently feels like a community—a place where I belong, not just a gym where I work out.
What I Love:
• Welcoming Staff & Members: Whether it’s young staff or more seasoned team members, everyone is consistently warm and friendly. It feels like a family here, and that’s something I deeply value.
• Community Feel: Many of the regular members live in the area, and even those just dropping in for the day often comment on how much they enjoy the atmosphere. It really is a reflection of the strong, grounded culture at this location.
• Faith at the Center: I appreciate that God is openly and respectfully acknowledged at Finley. The prayer request station and the bowl of Bible verses are small but meaningful ways the spiritual mission of the YMCA shines through.
• Events & Programs: I enjoy the community events and the inclusive, yet calm approach to diversity. Finley feels like a place that truly accepts everyone—without pushing political or ideological messaging.
• Friendly & Diverse: The diversity here is evident and refreshing, and people are genuinely friendly—something that isn’t always the case at other Triangle YMCA locations.
Please NEVER do what the Cary Locations do by Pandering to specific groups every month or holiday. It's unnecessary and not needed.
Suggestions for Improvement:
• Locker Room Cleanliness: Occasionally, the men’s locker room could use a more thorough cleaning in the middle of the day. A mid-day refresh would go a long way in maintaining the otherwise positive experience.
Final Thoughts:
AE Finley strikes the right balance—warm, welcoming, Christ-centered, and inclusive without being performative or divisive. I hope it continues to remain apolitical and focused on its core mission: serving people from all walks of life in a way that honors the values the YMCA was built on.
I love this gym, and I’m grateful to be part of the Finley community.
I like how much time the kids spend outside. I went to Camp Cheerio as a kid, and I love the summer camps vibes so much. Glad my kids can get some of that at day camp.

Nice staff. Clean facilities.
