Flexible and responsive before signing up, friendly and less-competitive sports are more welcoming to nervous kids.
Relaxed atmosphere, don’t have to travel from field to field, that I can have two kids playing in two different age groups and only have to go to one place.
We have loved our soccer seasons at the YMCA. The coaches have been great and the staff is kind on game days. Thanks for an affordable option for sports.
The coaches are great; they are very encouraging and the atmosphere at the sporting events are very positive. Kids also form friendships through these times. We have had a great experience and have recommended Y sports to many friends.
We’ve had the best experience with Finley sports this season! Communication has been excellent, everything has been so organized, and both our boys love their coaches and teams. We were really encouraged that the ref at my son’s U8 games prays with the teams beforehand. 10/10 we recommend to all our friends!
I really love sports at A.E Finley.
Great environment… right balance of competition and parent/coaches and refs are all there for the right reasons. The soccer fields could use some love though
Great soccer program for youth!
The great organization and communication done by the Y. Our coach has been great, he’s been very positive with the team even when giving constructive feedback. In game situations, in frustrating times he has been an excellent role model for the kids on keeping their heads up, staying positive, being resilient, and cheering each other on!
Nothing is perfect, but Finley YMCA youth sports are excellent and the effort is always 110%. We can’t control weather and other things, but the volunteers and staff are all A+!
Friendly staff, devoted instructors, clean facilities, community building events, love for kids...
Instructors are diligent about informing us to check our form to develop core strength. This is so important because I learn the effectiveness of each exercise as well as protecting myself from injury or muscle strain particularly when using weights (ie: body pump class)).
I would like to recognize both Marianne and Kristin as consistently and cheerfully encouraging in this particular situation.
I’m a Y member that prefers classes - personally, I feel more accountable to show up not just for myself but to encourage and enjoy being with others that I have met. I’m grateful for the friendships that I’ve made at Finley. It’s a friendly family feel atmosphere!
The staff, facilities, towels, cleanser to wipe equipment down and the people that come to this facility. Most of all the staff
Sauna and classes. Especially Zumba, barre, body pump, lean & cut, Pilates, power yoga. I’d like to have better opportunity to join wait list. Popular classes are often filled right away - suggesting more times (or space) for those classes.
I love so many things about the YMCA but really really really miss the volleyball at AE Finley. If you don't have the demand to do every week, would you consider a pickup game once a month? Pickleball has lost it's popularity so please bring volleyball back! Second, so many people ride their bikes to the YMCA but when it is raining there is not a covered place to secure them. This means I have to cancel my classes when it rains. It would mean the world to me to have either bike racks under the pavilion or a simple shelter built for them.
Community
I love the locker rooms and the well organized weigh room
I give it a 10 so far, but it’s a little too early for me to comment— I’ve only come twice since reinstating my membership!
I consider myself a member at Alexander
Variety of fitness classes, indoor and outdoor pool, good cardio equipment and weights.
Love my personal trainer and the friendly staff.
The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful.
We really enjoy the variety of activities and services offered at the A.E. Finley YMCA. My wife and I especially enjoy the Yoga Sculpt and stretching classes, while our son is part of the YOTA swim team. We also enjoy participating in events such as the triathlon, and we regularly use the fitness center, including the sauna and steam room. Overall, we really value having a place where our whole family can stay active, participate in different activities, and be part of the YMCA community.

I’ve been a member for over 23 years and at some point a large portion of my family. Finley is welcoming, have excellent instructors and offer a wide variety of classes.
My daughter was very happy with the range of activities and friendliness of staff. She met a lot of good friends
nice pool, exercise classes for seniors, close to my house
I really like the class offerings at the 7:30 time slot! That time is perfect to start my day!
Lots of activities and great pools
Variety and availability of classes offered. Mine range from Lean & cut to Pilates!
Love the instructors for the classes I regularly attend, which include Ashley G, Jody K, Kristin J, and Rosemary K! They are all the greatest, plus subs Paula R and Cuqui aren’t too shabby either. Keep up the good work!
