Went for service, employees were quick to diagnose the problem and get it fixed.
all the store staff were very knowledgeable about the different equipment, informative and helpful. Answered many questions and helped guide us through the selection that best fit our reasons for new bikes.
The sprocket still has rust on it. I thought for $283 +/- it would look perfect.
My stepdaughter is out of town and won’t return until august. So I don’t know if there are any other items.
Sean went above and beyond for us, we knew what we wanted and he got it for us quickly, he helped all the way through to the accessories. Even helped when our bike rack wasn’t attached to the hitch correctly… phew!
He saved the day, and our bikes!
Professional and exceptional service.
1. The fork on my new Townie 7D bike is a different material compared to my wife’s, although this is the same model. Our other 7D bike has a steel fork. Mine is a cheap alloy, much lower in strength. Is this a fork from a different bike? The website pictures show a steel fork, which doesn’t match the one I received, although shape is the same. Not happy.
2. When I came to the store to place the order, the associate that helped me out initially, tried to get me to buy a more expensive version of the 7D, in a color I didn’t want, basically claiming the model I want is not in stock. I kept challenging him on why is the bike $100 more expensive and he kept tell me I am wrong and the price he’s giving me is correct. Upon checking the website in store, I discovered I was right and was being charged $100 more. Talked to a different associate that told me the first person was trying to sell me an EQ model - which I never asked for and he never explained. Second associate was very nice and polite and showed me the 7D in the color I wanted was actually in the store and at the price I expected. While I ended up making the purchase, I am extremely disappointed in being lied to my face by the first associate. I would also expect he scammed other people too. There were no apologies of any kind once he got caught.
Both are bad enough issues where our next bikes will be bought somewhere else.

I've been coming here for many years and both the Sales and Service Dept. is off the charts good. I had new tires put on 2 years ago and never took it down from the garage rafters until July 4th 2022. Unfortunately I could not figure out why pumping air in my near fat tires was impossible using my 2 air pumps. Not having a bicycle rack which would put my vehicle out of warranty, I popped the back hatch, somehow managed to figure out how to get my bike inside and off to Trek of Downers Grove I went. The minute I wheeled my bike and pumps through the door, I was greeted and directed to the Service Dept. Within 5 seconds I was shown how to air my tires. As for the pumps, one was good and the other had a pin stuck in the tip, which was graciously removed. No charge, just awesome service with a smile. Again, Trek of Downers Grove is a place I recommend because if the service and all associates were not good, I would not waste my time and money for the past, at at least, 15 years.
