Jim Powell is a fantastic mechanic. He hasn’t seen my primary road bike in at least a year, yet he remembers the bike, how it’s set up, how I want it to perform, etc. When asking him what I should do for spring maintenance he’s recommending what it needs versus other things that would cost significantly more, but wouldn’t add any value. If you have a $7000 bike and are planning to buy a similarly priced bike for other needs, you really want to trust those who work on your equipment and the advice they give.
