Trek Downers Grove consistently delivers excellent service on repairs to my Trek. They exceed my expectations for completion time and correct diagnostics of issues.

Jim helped me out immensely and didn't take the opportunity to upsell me on a new motor for my e-bike when all I actually needed was to free up some frozen chain links. 10 out of 10 would recommend this store!

Bought a Domane SLR 7 from you guys last week. John Burke could not have had a better experience. Started with Chris answering my call and giving me his cell number so we could FaceTime and he could show me the bike, including from outside the store. He was very responsive and helpful.
When I arrived to pick it up the mechanic had the bike all cleaned up and fitted to my specs. I wish I’d gotten his name. 3rd guy was Adam, who answered a bunch of questions.
These guys made this experience fun and easy. 5++ stars

Sean gladly took my bike and put it into a service que list. Always welcoming and easy to talk to. When I pick up my bike, Chris the mechanic explained to me the details of how he worked on my bike. I can tell he really thought through and worked my old road bike. He was also very knowledgeable too. Very satisfied!!
Chris, in the service dept was very helpful and went over what was done on my "winter service". I will be visiting the store more often and do an annual service on my Marlin!
Love the quality of the bicycles and the service is outstanding at the Downers Grove location.
I purchased very expensive Lake cycling shoes after trying on a size 47 MTB version of the road shoe that I was interested in as it was all that was in stock. The salesperson advised a 46.5 in the road based on my foot being loose. When I tried the 46.5 road, it was not as comfortable as the MTB shoe (felt different) and also was not obvious if it was too small. I believe I had the option of not accepting the shoe but then I think the store gets hit with a restocking fee. I was told that the shoes might be tight in the front while standing but would be better on the bike which makes sense and I agreed that the 47 MTB version seemed too loose. However I was also told that I can not return them once I mount cleats. So now I have to take an almost $400 risk of mounting the cleats and seeing how they feel on the bike. While I understand that used shoes are an issue, I have an indoor trainer and it would seem mounting cleats for a trainer ride would be minimal use of the shoes. So I try to support local stores (just recently purchased crank arms from DG store that could have easily been ordered) and value being able to touch the shoe. But in this case, the value of the local store was much less than I would have expected.
The young man that helped me was very knowledgeable, and very helpful in trying to make sure I had the correct product.
