Scheller’s in Clarksville has a decent product line. Keith and John are great to work with and provide good advice and thoroughly answer questions.
Customer service from Josh in Middletown was incredible!! He did an amazing job talking me through the details of the bike and helping me get the tire on the front wheel since it had to be removed to fit in my SUV to get it home.

We bought an Electra Townie 7D e-bike about five years ago from St. Matthews store. It’s seen about 400 miles of use since then. Yesterday, we encountered an issue while out riding, and brought it into the store. The “electronics” were flashing a “code” like signal, and the motor had stopped functioning.
While visiting the store for repairs, we were told the code meant it needed a “firmware update”, and one of the shop guys began an “update process” using his cellphone. We were told the firmware was out of date, and were charged approximately $70 for him to link his phone to the bike’s electronic device.
At no point was it mentioned during our original purchase or during the “service” that Trek has that same app, available through the Apple Store, where the customer can actually update the firmware on their own device. Upon returning home, $70 lighter, I did some research and located the app, downloaded it and was also able to connect myself to the Townie. The ability to connect via Bluetooth was simple and seamless. In the process, I found that there was also one more firmware update, which I did on my own.
Interesting, but even the Electra owner’s manual makes no mention of the Trek app and how it can be used with the Townie to update the firmware, or provide additional information and details.

I feel like we should have been informed about all of the features of the bike, including that we could even update the firmware on our own. Being charged $70 and then learning more about the bike through the Internet leaves me scratching my head…
