The staff as usual at Helen's is friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Their mechanical and repair department is very talented and diversified but one mechanic and technician, in particular, is the best I've used over the years, and that is Gilbert.
As far orchestrating and helping all around in any area Monty is the master conductor and an outstanding source for answers and advice sought.

My bike is in great condition after the tune-up.
Picking up the bike was more difficult. First attempt the cashier was out to lunch and they couldn’t do it. Being out to lunch is fine, please update your website to reflect these hours you are closed. Second attempt my wife made successfully, but there appeared to be a lot of confusion as to where the bike was. I’m a big proponent of buying locally and not on the internet, but please make the experience have less friction

$180 Ultra Tune Up completed 1/30/21 at the Manhattan Beach store. While riding my bike on 2/5/21 the rear derailleur snapped off and fell into the rear wheel with the chain and destroyed the rear wheel. I was fortunate not to be injured because I was traveling at 23 mph at the time along PCH in Malibu. The bike stalled suddenly and could have easily travelled into traffic. I will return the bike to Manhattan Beach on 2/6/21.

Staff and service is top notch however.parts and accessories pricing is out of control.I prefer to shop at the brick and mortors but can’t justify spending $9.00 over msrp for a cable set unless it’s an emergency. The local bike shop shouldn’t be emergency shopping only. Those kind of mark ups push customers to shop online.

I was never sized for my bike. I'm 6'2", I purchased the Trek Verve 2 2021 XL. I believe that the
Large would have suited my better for clearance of my genitals to the bar. I didn't realize this until I took the bike home. I enjoy the bike i can ride with no issues as of yet. I just have to be careful. I know that the chart shows a 6'2" person has a 32 inseam, but somewhere I lost 2 inches.
The staff is incredibly helpful and enthusiastic. I felt like they were trying to find the right bike for me and not just selling the first I was interested in or the pricier one. We bought three family bikes, and now ride all the time. We love them!
