Understanding your premium shop, you’re getting a premium price which I’m OK with. We try to support local businesses as much as we can. We had a small problem with our bike that was clearly not a quality control slip up. One of the bottle cage screws was being held in with plumbers tape. Very fortunate that we discovered it right when we got home. The staff was great about replacing the bike immediately but clearly it calls in question how closely they are checked before they leave the shop. There are not that many screws to check to begin with but we will never know who tried to pass that off. I’m also curious how the shop would’ve responded if we would’ve discovered this problem a few months down the road?
Do what you promise... I ordered a bike over the phone on Saturday for a pickup on Sunday. My husband called later on that Saturday and ordered a rack to be installed on the bike. The sales clerk said it would be done and ready for Sunday’s pickup. Sure enough, when we arrived on Sunday, no rack was installed and the sales associate had no idea what we were talking about. They finally figured it out and we waited there to get the rack installed, but wasted more time than necessary.
Service is always awesome, could have more tire selection for 28, -- but always outstanding service.

Ernesto and the crew made a pretty smooth process of buying my new bike....friendly, knowledgeable and shared my excitement. No pressure sales and let me test ride around the block first. Nice open and clean shop, well organized and controlled during social distancing.
I went there for a particular bike and left with exactly what I wanted, including some pedals I wanted which they had in stock. A consistently good experience I get from the Helen’s Cycles family.
The staff is terrific! The selection was great during this Covid Bicycle backup and our son was incredibly happy.

Awesome experience at Helen’s. My wife and I got Trek eBikes and love them. Our first weekend, we rode almost 45 miles! We didn’t even use the pedal assist the entire time. Frank (not sure of his last name but he has wavy, brown hair) was our salesperson! He was awesome! He was so patient with us and gave great recommendations. I cannot say enough about his first-class customer service! He even installed our bike rack! Thanks so much to Frank and everyone at Helen’s cycles! We will tell everyone we know about the experience and will definitely be back!

Adam Lasky is the best. Our family has been purchasing our bicycles and accessories from Helen’s in Santa Monica for over 40 years, and while we no longer live in the area and have other local bike shops, we still frequent Helen’s in Santa Monica because of Adam. He’s friendly, knowledgeable, and always of service. We appreciate his kindness and patience. If Adam was to leave, we would consider taking our business elsewhere.
