You didn't offer me the option of getting a kickstand. Some bicycle shops will give you a free kickstand when you purchase from them.
I forgot the gentleman's name, but the bike mechanic was and has been extremely helpful.

Fantastic service - came in to get new pedals and brought my bike in as one of the pedals couldn't be removed. They got it off and retapped the holes as they were damaged all at no charge!

Very efficient service albeit my experience was mostly online. I purchased my bicycle through the website so I had no direct interaction with the sales person and only brief exchange with personnel who handed the bike to me at pick-up. Bradley made sure to have pedals I'd ordered installed quickly as they weren't already done when I'd arrived. After proof of ID and a quick transaction to pay for the pedals I was in and out within 10 minutes. One other comment; I would have liked a proper fitting or assist with same but that was not offered to me - I didn't think to ask at the time. Anyway, I intend to inquire about whether or not Helen's offers a fitting with the purchase of a new bike and any other service - if so I'll probably set up an appointment to do the fitting as I live a distance from the shop.
Overall a good experience. I was mostly pleased to find the actual brand, model, color and size road bike I had been seeking for over a month.

The service at Helen’s is excellent. If you are looking for something and they don’t have it. They will go out of their way to find it for you.
1st time I came to purchase a bike for my older son, the person that helped us was great. My son was so happy to get his first bike, and he made it fun for him. This last time I came to take my second son (on his 7th birthday) to get his bike. "it's his birthday today," 1st thing we said when we met our salesperson. The person helping us seemed annoyed, barely addressed my son, kept picking up phone calls from the store, and then just told us to go pay. He just made my son nervous because he wasn't friendly or nice.
Also, when I called a while back regarding my 1st son's free bike tune-up. We purchased the bike in May 2019, but the pandemic hit, and we didn't feel safe coming in April or May 2020. The person I spoke to said they would extend the free tune-up service due to the pandemic and come in when we felt safe. When I asked the person helping me about it, he commented, " You purchased it 2 years ago, so no", which was very dismissing. Did he not realized that the pandemic was still going on... I understand that it's been close to 2 years, but I have kids. I can not just take it out during a pandemic until I feel it is safe. I was so irritated; I forgot to tell the cashier to give me the UCLA discount.
I returned because the services were great the first time, I thought they cared about their clients during a global pandemic, and I wanted to support my local bike store. Now I would not recommend Helen's to my neighbors, co-workers, or friends. My son's 7th birthday gift excitement was killed, and he was just nervous and rushed.
The team at Helens is the best. Monty and the service guys are always on top of it with great advice and knowledge to back it up.
