My stairwell landing too 5 days to completely dry... and that is with a giant fan that we had to have blowing on it from day 2. All the carpets that were done were "crispy" even after vacuuming several times. I am not impressed. And the smell.... I know I did not use deodorizer, but I had to sprinkle baking soda mixed with essential oils to pull the "off" odor out. My carpets are not that old. Less than 4 years. Make it right? Do others a favor and make sure your techs are appropriately and thoroughly extracting the water they clean with out of carpeting.
