I would love to have access to a lap pool, like ESU, or the EHS pool for members to do laps.
Move your weight area somewhere downstairs and make it easier to put one’s account on freeze when they go on vacation.
Bathrooms need updated
Are all areas of the facility physically disadvantage/handicapped accessible? Is there specific handicapped parking spots? Is there a need? If accommodations were provided would that be a selling point for the health vpclub?
That classes are included in the membership!!!! That’s huge for me! At my last gym you had to pay extra and it was terrible!
I would not recommend this club until the lockerrooms are completed. I would expect current members to get a couple of months at a discounted rate, as a gesture to make up for the inconvenience of not having showers available from the beginning of summer into the fall.
The two different floors that each have tons of equipment
Things are inconsistent, sometimes there’s never any towels to use. Equipment seems to be broke. A lot, or in need of repair.
My trainer is amazing though! 10/10 would recommend Ethan to anyone I know.
There are way too many high school kids at this gym. I’ve never attended a gym that had so many children members. They workout in large groups and occupy machines for too long. Then they are always taking photos of themselves or have their phones out in the locker room. I prefer to workout in the afternoons but have had to resort to early mornings to be able to get a decent pace of workout. The gym towels have no absorbency and are basically squeegees. The doors between the locker room and sauna/showers are always open making it impossible to shower and get ready in the morning without being a sweaty mess. Other than that, the employees have generally been helpful and friendly. The outdoor pool is nice.
For the amount of money members pay I think the broken equipment should be fixed quicker. Right now there are a couple of machines out of service, the sauna was down for months and the front door was broken for quite some time.
Newer/updated equipment would feel like I’m getting what I pay for. Staff is always great!
I was told updates were going to be done when I signed up in January. So far I have not seen any. Also, more working equipment would be nice.
Different classes, love to go 5:30 am
You haven't beyond not putting mats down on the slippery floors. I don't use anything in the fitness center but the pool and sometimes the hot-tub / sauna. I really don't care about the classes and I don't know anyone well enough around here to have those conversations.
Key point: Mats on slippery floors! Get er done.
Equipment needs to be fixed immediately once it breaks. I am paying $93/month and almost every workout has to be adjusted because some piece of equipment is broken. And it's broken for nearly a month before it's fixed.
I love the community the classes offered engender as well as the Women’s Gym that provides an out of the way area for women to exercise without feeling scrutinized or judged by those in the main gym areas.
Cleanliness, lots of equipment so no need to wait, staff is pleasant
Equipment maintenance is poor. Once something does finally break, it takes forever to fix. Also, the gym is a dump! Members leave weights and equipment strewn all over the gym and racking weights rule is not enforced. We’ve had numerous plumbing issues in the mens locker room. We recently had a small fire early in the morning. We lifted in limited light and the front desk didn’t even open the door to help with smoke. The ONLY reason I workout here is that the gym is close.
First off, everyone is very nice and it helps create a great workout environment. The gym also has a TON of good equipment. I feel as if I can get my best workouts and on top of that, don’t have to wait for machines or benches. I’ve been a member at multiple gyms and Genesis takes the cake as #1.
I really enjoy the availability of equipment and the atmosphere here. Though people tend to keep to themselves, still a friendly environment :)
I like the swimming pools and the indoor track and all of the various weight machines
Always friendly staff and adequate facilities.
I like that nobody talks to me when I’m there.
excercise equipment is always available to use without a wait, clean locker rooms, friendly staff
I like the variety of the types of machines you have (power racks, a lot of DBs, multiple leg presses, multiple leg extensions, etc.).
We were told when we signed up in January that updates would be happening on the gym. Never happened. When we asked about it we were told no one said that. Again, not true. The building constantly has leaks, it's too hot to work out most of the time, the equipment is old, it's dingy and just gross. We won't be renewing.
Some equipment is showing it’s age and is not as smooth.
Across the board you have a few customer service and training issues. Last weekend, the midtown location opened more than an hour late. When I tried contacting someone at another location to inquire, their attitude was “not my store … not my problem.” This is very off brand. Additionally I have been contacted numerous times by someone to upsell me. I asked very politely to take my name off that list but has another call from Taylor this week. I also think the midtown location feels ridiculous crowded upstairs and would encourage you to move some equipment downstairs to help loosen the traffic in the weight room. Below is the verbatim response I received Sunday when inquiring about the midtown location not being open at 9 am. The account was the general genesis account but the responder asserted it was a different location. As you will see, some communications training is in order.
“ I appreciate the message and I will pass this along to the appropriate people but this fb page is for Woodland Hills members. I do not have anything to do with Midtown.”
I believe it goes to ownership levels but the club is not taken care of at all. Roof leaks constantly, dirty equipment, new items needed that aren’t provided…multiple times with paper towels missing, etc. with that many roof leaks happening I know there are issues in the ceiling. Mold, etc. i would never recommend someone go there and see how unkept the space is. Ever. The only reason I stay is because of the staff.
Get input from memers about class times. Offer more yoga on Sat morning not just 8am.
Offer lunchtime shorter yoga. You had it but took it away.
