Since Genesis took over, the TV's have gone dark. If you're doing cardio for 40 minutes to an hour there's nothing to look at. It's been 2 weeks now with no TV. Cable companies aren't even that slow to install new service! The offices are now dark too, Looks like you're closing it down or something
Love the group fitness classes!
none of the class schedules are posted anywhere and there’s no notice of a class is cancelled so i had to sit there for 20 minutes to see
The classes I take are great. Other than that, honestly, it's always very dirty and very run down, so it's hard to recommend a place that is in such overall not great shape. From the moment you walk in the door where now there is plastic hanging down because the roof is leaking and has been leaking for years to taking a class where the floors are always dirty.
I love the variety of cardio equipment and the open spaces for abs or HIiT workouts.
Great workout area and great people
I think the club is great, especially with all the new upgrades. I have admittedly not used it as much as I did before the pandemic hit due to virus concerns. I was excited to hear recently about the outdoor pool to be added this summer.
Since taking over, I can already see a diminish in services. There is no longer Kleenex in the locker rooms, maintenance does not get done (e.g., a door lock on a stall in the men’s bathroom has been broken for weeks) and the TVs have been turned off with no explanation. I am also disappointed that there was no notice to members that the club was sold. We just learned from “new” staff that the club was sold. That is really poor customer service!
No disappointment really just too expensive to advertise to my friends.
Mobile app to register for classes
Total disregard for mask requirements. Even the staff doesn’t wear masks when they are exercising out of uniform.
Lap pool, kids club
Clean, nice equipment, convenient parking/location
I love the small group classes. Especially if you’re a beginner to the gym, or just want to follow along to a workout instead of making your own.
The equipment needs to be updated, not to mention that the locker rooms need deep cleaning.
I appreciate the variety of fitness activities that are available.
Variety of classes, especially water aerobics and NIA.
Showers and someone to rack the weights from night shift.
It provides everything I could ever want and more for exercising and keeping is shape. I like the people I interact with and especially my trainer Brad Jensen.
Love the classes
I love all my classes! Nice people.
The water is warm in the pool and club is clean
I enjoy the gym. It's clean. Ample space. Equipment appears to be well maintained. The staff is friendly and unintrusive. Membership costs are a little higher than I'd like, but I imagine the trade-off for the membership cot is all of the above-mentioned highlights.
Things that could be improved? A couple of items...
1. Since the transition from OneLife to Genesis began, the large towel vending machine hasn't been working, so I need to ask one of your folks to help me retrieve a towel every time I come in now.
2. I'm a nursing student, so oftentimes, I'm coming into the gym late in the evening, when I have time. The associates who close up the gym very often start to turn the lights off before the gym is closed (sometimes 30-45 minutes before closing, in areas of the gym where members are actively using equipment).
It sends a passive but not-so-subtle message that the remaining members need to leave. Having worked hourly jobs at gyms and other public facilities, I can empathize with the desire to help folks along near closing time. However, turning lights off on paying customers without acknowledgment or engagement can come across as rude, dismissive, and unwelcoming. I think it's also important to consider that turning lights off on patrons while they are actively engaged in lifting free weights or working on a machine - it should go without saying - compromises the safety of those paying members.
Those are my only substantive complaints. Everything else is great.
Thanks for taking the time and consideration to solicit input.
Friendliness
I can go when I want. Friendly staff.
The facility is AWESOME - the parking lot is terrible.
Thank you for making repairs in the men's locker room.
Cleaner
Repairs and cleanliness. The entrance to the building reminds one of a haunted house. Your roof leaks in many spots, so rather than getting a new roof, you have buckets collecting water.
You have bird poop on court #4. A broken window on court #6. The furniture in the lounge area is worn out. One couch has the piping dangling. The showers in the men's locker room are disgusting, they don't drain. Many of your workout machines are broken. The clocks don't work, including the ones on the tennis courts. In the workout areas the vents are clogged with dust and the blue ductwork is caked with dirt and dust. So why do I belong? I like my personal trainer, Russ, and I enjoy the people I play tennis with. Your refund policy is terrible. It took four months for your company to correct a mistake your company made.
The above is not my definition of a "luxury club" as your current ad indicates.
😢
It’s a bit more than a gym. It’s also a small club. It makes it different from other gyms
