I owned 2 Trek Bikes in the past (800 and an 830 AL). Since then, I built my bikes from scratch. I decided to go back to Trek bikes after 20+ years of owning a custom built bike, mainly because the cost of replacing older parts just didn't make sense. The geometry and components of the Roscoe 7 I purchased were above and beyond my old hardtail from 2005. I have owned this bike for about a month now, and have been very happy with my purchase.

I picked up my Trek helmet, ordered online from Trekbikes, from Trek Bicycle Chicago Wicker Park. Charlie, behind the counter, was exceedingly generous with his time. He helped me choose helmet lights and fastened them on the helmet for me, and gave me helpful ancillary information about bike safety. It was the best shopping experience I've had in a very long time.

Transparency! I asked question, and they answered them honestly. Comparing brands to theirs and explaining the differences honestly was what I liked the most about the conversation with associates at Trek. I let them know how much I wanted to spend and what I was looking for in a bike. I went into the store thinking I knew what I wanted and left with even better options after a conversation. The associate who helped me, Gil, never tried to upsell me. He simply helped me determine what I needed in a bike. It was incredibly helpful.

I was stuck between a road bike and a gravel bike. Gil steered me toward the Domane AL5 and explained its versatility and its ability to be an endurance bike with great light gravel capabilities. This helped me confidently choose what has been a phenomenal, super-versatile bicycle capable of more rugged rides with more aggressive tires…while still having the option of easily switching to road tires for paved paths as well.
