we are so lucky to have the place where we are able to maintain our total health, physical and mental, among active people who find a second life outside our home.....Anne and Frank
Need a few more treadmills
It has a little of everything to do but it should be updated some. But love going there no hazzle
Pleasant environment. Terrific staff!
Healthy exercise, pools, programs, classes
It is clean and I can use the equipment in the gym. And staff have helped me in the past.
Everyone is very nice place is always clean
The cost should be better differentiated; I am semi-retired - 60 and pay $106 a month for me and my son and then $70 an hour for personal training. For me I can join Joint Effort for $187 per month - unlimited and that is a personal training place. I don't use the pool and so I feel like I am paying for others people to use the pool. A lot of my friends over 65 pay nothing, and a lot of young families with children pay little to nothing.
Friendly people, nice facility, good programs
I like the classes, teachers and resources,
The staff and instructors are wonderful, very professional, helpful and knowledgeable.
pool fitness center, staff
I took this survey not too long ago. Nothing has changed. I am very satisfied.
Choices for exercise programs.
Many of the adult fitness classes are poor.
Have each workout area fully supplied with equipment and a variety of choices to meet all levels of people in the class and the type of class being held ( including lighting/lamps) so they are not being moved from workout room to workout room depending on which class is running.
The basement workout room desperately needs hooks and racks to organize the equipment neatly, so not lying all around the room on the floor or on the bikes.
A WiFi extender in the basement would helpful when teachers are trying to connect for their music. I have experienced several times when it was an issue and issues with the speaker itself.
The sense of community, the very helpful friendly staff
Warm up the floor in the first exercise room- replace the tile?
Very friendly people and clean environment.
An activity schedule that is easier to read online.
I should be able to see at a glance what the schedule is for the competition pool.
A calendar that is visual would be much easier.
Family friendly with many workout options and classes
I ordered two classes a week and enjoy the teachers and the people. the people at the front desk are always friendly and helpful. I like it here
Friendly and helpful staff! Clean and well maintained facilities. Everything you need under one roof. Love this place!
The people who work there are nice and the facilities are clean.
Friendly staff, inclusive environment.
The water temperature is just a little too chilly to enjoy! My granddaughter belongs to the Wilton, YMCA and the water temperature there is so much warmer, which makes it more enjoyable. The Milford Y has such a better set up as far as the shallow end, the middle depth, and then the deep end with the lanes is fabulous! Whereas Wilton just has the lanes offered for free swim. The water temperature makes a huge difference and I know that I am not the only one who feels that way. Thanks!
The friendly people.
The aquatics classes require a complete overhaul. The Fairfield YMCA is the only YMCA in its network that charges extra for deep water exercise classes, which is ridiculous when members are paying full membership prices and other YMCA locations do not charge extra for these classes. Additionally, the Fairfield YMCA does not take into account which water exercise classes are in demand and best for the majority of its aquatics population. For example, the water Zumba class has only 1-3 people in it, because it is not in demand with the aquatics population. Further, Zumba Aquatic class is also an extra charge, which makes it clear that the Fairfield YMCA is looking to make money rather than fulfill the needs of its customer base. The aquatics classes at Fairfield YMCA are poorly organized and managed, with last-minute changes, mad scrambled for instructors, and I have been there many a time when the schedule says there is a class, and there is no class because an instructor could not be found. Based on the disorganization and lack of management at the Fairfield YMCA aquatics programs, I have started to go to the Milford YMCA, which is like night and day difference. Unlike the Fairfield YMCA, where members are price gauged by paying for classes that should be free, the Milford YMCA offers these classes for free, the classes run as shown on the YMCA app and schedule, and they are more successful in retaining quality instructors as a result of the better management of the program in Milford versus the complete lack of management in Fairfield.
Staff is professional, knowledgeable and friendly
Cleaner locker room

Replace the lower bike machines with some reliable, easy to use ones that don't require a degree in IT to adjust the viewing options or don't run out of time every time a user is changed.
(With all the Y spends on equipment, you should have a dedicated sales rep to adjust any needed situations on a weekly basis).
