It just is run with kindness and care. My grandson feels very welcome and comfortable.
Many great programs especially for children.
The swimming and outdoor activities
The Trumbull Y is a good place for exercise and and is very friendly. It is an asset to our community.
There is so much to experience . So many classes for everyone. The gym, the pool personal trainers etc.
I am getting strong and happier because I go to the YMCA!
Very clean and organized with a great staff
Nice staff. Drop and pick up times are convenient. Timely communication. Good moral values being taught. Fun activities to keep kids engaged.
Availability of activities and proximity to our home.
Good but car spaces are not enough.
Variety of exercise options, helpful personnel
The instructor, Coach Nacho, is the best!! He gets the kids working, but in a nice, relatable way for them. My grandkids loved him, he is wonderful!
Clean, friendly gym.
The classes and instructors
Appreciate the signs that say lap swim only- but would be helpful is the lifeguards helped to enforce that. Also understand there’s swim lessons- but not sure they need to take up multiple lanes? Thank you.
The first teacher we had was great. Then he went back to college and we got stuck with this kind of awful female teacher. Critical of my kid and very low energy. Kid stopped wanting to go to lessons bc of her. I was told by another mother that there are many people who schedule around this particular person to avoid them, but often teachers get substituted midstream. Good help is hard to find, I get it, but terrible help should be replaced or re-allocated. I’m worried about signing up for more lessons because I really don’t want swimming to be ruined for us by this one person who is apparently at least some of the time unavoidable.
Thank you
My son enjoys the sports offered in the gym or outside. I think it would be nice if you had one structured activity on half day sessions (for example gaga pit tournament or make your own sand art, make your own parfait, etc). I think it is very nice you offer.swimming once a month.
Would like to see more outside time for the kids as the weather improves, but overall great staff and experience this year
The care provided to our children is top notch - the staff are reliable and care about those that are participating.
More structured activities, especially during winter months when they can’t go outside
The teacher was really good but I still don’t know her name lol. She introduced herself once and never again in the beginning of the class as other classes we have been. Once we had a substitute and the class was terrible, the substitute did not know about the basic stuff for baby class, she was in the corner pretty much just existing there and we were doing free swimming, I would rather had the class canceled and replaced in another day. Price and hours ok.
Our daughter has been taking swim with the Fairfield Y since she was 3 years old and she is now 6. She loves attending swim lessons and has learned a lot. We love the collaboration with the school and the transportation to and from school. Great program!
The ease of drop off and pick up, my kids also attend the Y summer camp so they many of the people involved in school age care.
The Stratford YMCA needs building updates as well as improvements to the driveway. Some of the front desk staff are also very rude.
More privacy at the facility. Better programming and engagement. Healthier snacks. More creative outlets that focus the kids in physical activity and challenging learning scenarios. Do better. Not paying for a daycare, paying for enrichment. Constructive criticism, design the program like after school intermurrals. Offer more to challenge the kids. Work on security and improve the facility with privacy fencing.
We absolutely love the YCMA program for before care at Fawn Hollow. He is always excited to see his friends and start the day off having a little fun before getting into the routine of school! We would never miss our opportunity to go to YMCA even on days where we can sleep in or have unexpected delays! Thank you for all your efforts and support.
Great facility, friendly staff, nice pools!
