The comfy new furniture!
Amazing teachers and amazing classes!!!
Billy, my instructor, has the patience I need to focus on the lesson and not just the water
I like the variety of classes offered at the YMCA. The instructors are good and the classes have helped me in so many ways. Participating in the Prevent T2 Diabetes Prevention Program has been extremely helpful. My Doctor was very impressed with my latest weight and most of my numbers have been lowered to the normal range. They were quite excited and wanted to know what I have been doing? The YMCA classes and programs get all of the credit.
The lifestyle change is important to keep up and I see the need for continued work and classes. Thank you for helping me to help m myself.. Greatest compliment from my Dr. quote "I want to be like you when I grow up'.
Again thank you for helping me to take control of my health. First name removed Russell Last name removed
I like that the kids are divided in 3 small groups (1 adult to 4 kids ratio) which gives the instructor a good amount of time with each child to help teach the child swimming techniques. The kids are taught different things in the water which enhances their ability to learn how to swim. Overall it's a nice swim program for the preschoolers & I would recommend the program to friends & family.

They are excellent 👍👍👍✅️
Ms Tracey always provides a group and individual feedback/recap of each day.
Desiree was a most patient and fun instructor!
My son really enjoys swimming...the instructors work well with him.
Miss Gaudy is an amazing, warm and patient instructor! Jessica has been incredibly helpful in arranging our schedule. The front desk staff are also helpful and love to say hello :)
I appreciate that the Y is so inclusive. Also that there is such a range of fitness activities and classes
Ease of scheduling and variety of classes, community
I like swimming in the large pool, well-maintained and not too much chlorine. I like the super clean women’s locker room with showers and sauna.
I enjoy the gym and the pool. The staff is helpful. Keep up the good work.
Instructors are great and there are various classes to choose from.
It's free with my Medicare Avantage plan, great equipment, and I can walk there.
Compared to other pricier swim schools, at the Y the kids get a lot more time in the pool working on different swim styles/techniques.
The lessons are great and the teachers are patient and well trained.
Mr. Billy was an excellent teacher. We'll be back likely in the fall for more lessons.
The teachers are very patient with reluctant swimmers
Lots to do
Terrfic facility, helpful staff, and basically one of the best institutions in Montclair along with the libraries and nonprofits.
I really love the staycation. My kids really enjoy it and the staff. The staff is super helpful and I love the program
Tremendously organized. Excellent staff!
clean, courteous, pleasant environment, easy access to equipment, recently refurbished locker rooms. One negative is the men's steam room still needs a lot of attention.
Small groups, patient instructors, nice pool and viewing area that forces parents not to interfere
I have been a member for decades. A great service to the community and to me especially as I grow older
We had a great experience with coach Armando! We will definitely consider taking more classes at the Y.
I like going to the Y, rather than other gyms for a bunch of reasons.
1. I like seeing people of all ages working out at whatever suits them.
2. I like that the Y is not blasting music and does not permit phone calls in workout areas. I bring my own ear buds.
But I do wish you'd fix the stationary bikes in the cardio room.

My lessons with Janet and Gaudy were exactly why I wanted to take lessons-- they helped me to overcome my fear of entering deep water. I still can't tread water for a long period, but thanks to their patience and skillful teaching, I am getting more comfortable in the deep end.
