Member Testimonials
Our daughter had swim lessons at Park Street YMCA and we were very pleased with the program and facility.
I like the fact that it's it's diverse.It's older, it's younger places very clean.What
The team is helpful and supportive and the facility is great. There is a wonderful sense of community every time I go. Grateful to have such a great YMCA!
Friends I make and spend time with there.
I think the membership options make going to the gym possible. Staff were inviting, warm friendly. I was able to access staff to ask about the machines. I didn't join because it's not for me. I need a trainer and currently can't budget for that.
Classes are easy to sign up for. Trainers are Awsome
The people- the ones who work here & the members
I love the choice of the group fitness exercise classes happening throughout the day on weekdays and happening on Saturdays. I really wish the Park Street YMCA offered more water exercise classes after 4pm on the weekdays or on the weekends. There are so few water exercise classes and a lot more group fitness classes. Since I became a member of the Park Street YMCA, the only water exercise classes offered have been Aqua Fit, Aqua Fit Hi, and Aqua Fit Move it to Music (this is the only water exercise class that doesn’t conflict with my full-time work schedule, so it’s the only one I take).
The Senior exercises and the World Dance. And I plan to do senior swims in 2 weeks.
Staff and classes
I appreciate the variety of classes for all levels of fitness.
The difficulty of parking is something I warn people about if I do recommend the Y to them.
I'm glad that the Y does not pipe in the dreadful music so often found in gyms. but I wish the Y was a little more strict about enforcing the No Phones rule. Ive got my own ear pods and I have no desire to hear someone's else's loud conversation on the phone. I can understand when someone calls while you're working out, but they should not stay on the phone.
In the cardio room, I wish the Y would maintain the 3 stationary bikes. It's not that they don't work, but each one has its own problems.

it’s like the beating heart of the diverse montclair community
The Y has everything we need in terms of equipment for working out and the pool. There are so many classes. It’s well kept and staff is helpful. It’s a part of our routine and we feel lucky to have this in our town.
Excellent teachers, good classes, state-of-the-art equipment, and always friendly staff; it's a pleasure to be there.

It’s very clean, swipes are everywhere, the weight room is nice and light and bright, and the equipment is in good shape (except for your rowing machines, which sound like they are falling apart. Luckily, I have a rower at home and don’t need yours).

convenient hours of operation
excellent equipment and exercise opportunity
Been going off and on for 40 years. Friendly open place. All kinds of people. Not like a snooty health club with only beautiful people. Love that there are two pools as I use to swim there 40 years ago in the small pool only.
I enjoy the diversity of the group classes.
The variety of exercise machines, the compartmentalized set up, access to wipes/cleanliness and classes offered.
There are so many choices and opportunities for members; a great variety of classes with wonderful instructors all through the day and into the evening. I love the Park Street Y!
Love being in community with all ages of members working on emotion and physical health. I am inspired by each and every person there—from staff to other members.
