These lessons are so fun and inclusive, it's a very warm welcoming environment for me and the ltitle one.
Hi,
My family has had a good experience with Y swim lessons generally.
My 2 children, age 9 and 11, enjoyed private lessons with Wadley, Desiree, and Marvin, all of whom were very accommodating, as my son has some attentional issues. They were able to teach both children and the instructors kept the kids' attention with some different activities each week. We parents also had some suggestions, and these were incorporated.
My children also enjoyed and benefitted from the group swim lessons, and they improved significantly. The classes were well-managed and fun, and every child got personal attention. My children had to miss their most recent session because of injury from rock climbing, but we hope to resume. My daughter in particular enjoyed the lifeguarding lesson, and I found observing it to be helpful as a parent as well. In fact, a class for parents/caregivers would be excellent for those occasions when we are supervising our kids in a private pool or other location. Also, messaging in emails and/or in the Y regarding the importance & legal requirement to wear life jackets when boating (incl. kayaking & SUPing) would be a helpful reminder to families in the summer months.
Very good
Great staff and convenient hours.
Jane is a very good and patient swim instructor.
My son has been taking swim classes at the YMCA, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. He’s always excited to attend, which speaks volumes about how much he enjoys it. The instructors are incredibly patient and attentive, making sure each child feels supported and safe while learning. It's been a great environment for building both skills and confidence in the water. Highly recommend!
Love the after care team at Demarest! They incorporate various types of hands-on activities and engage in sports activities in the gym or outside on the playground.
I love how Armondo took the time to explain the stroke mechanics to the kids in his class. His style of communication works so well for the kids and kept it fun while they learned. He also adjusted how he explained things for each kid so they'd understand. It's a great experience for the kids and I saw huge improvements in my daughter's ability over the course of the lessons.
I think it's great!!!!! PERFECT!!!! I love it.
all the staff are extremely courteous. our kids are in great hands.
The staff who run the program are fantastic and a huge asset to the YMCA. My son absolutely loves the aftercare team.
Convenient location, wonderful variety of offerings, excellent staff, What’s not to like!
it is so helpful for working parents. Anastasia has been so kind and responsive to our daughter.
Ms.Kim and her team are the best. I trust them with my child.
my daughter loves aftercare, would recommend other families
My daughter enjoys her time there and looks forward to it each day. She speaks very highly of the counselors as well.
Friendly staff; not too crowded when I go in the morning to do circuit training or the elliptical; and nice to be kept informed through the regular emails about what’s going on in the space.
The welcoming atmosphere from staff and clients alike. The classes amazing.
The different programs that are available for all ages, as well the accommodations
I love everything. No complaints.
I like the fact that everyone is friendly and helpful. There’s community and family atmosphere that I really like about that Y.
As a parents, we thought it was great for our two children who both have Autism and ADHD to have a water safety course that includes swim skills on top of the swim lessons they took beforehand. The cost, with discount, was an excellent deal. The family locker room and changing area accommodate very well.
There is a great variety of exercises and interesting things that happen at Park Street YMCA. Unfortunately for me, it has not been so great in the last 2 years, There is no real help or
accommodation for anyone with disabilities. or physical challenges, The schedule is very strict and rigid, The bathrooms need at least one stool or bench as well as one one hand bar for the shower.
I loved going to the aquatic exercise class until I couldn't fully participate and had to stop going to the class because I was not able to keep up with the exercises. That really bothered me, There are exceptions to all the rules. Until I can fully participate in the class I had to stop coming.
That's a lot of wasted funds to not have access when needed.
There are a lot of things I enjoyed when I was able to move a lot. I am hoping I will be better able to enjoy some of the classes again, Senior strength level,, world dance, ,Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, and any senior friendly activities.
Aquatic senior class would be lovely if I could do that,
Everything.
