I enjoy meeting my friends at SYAC and the steam room, workout equipment, showers , lockers and towels provided there. I like the variety of ways available to work out, from track to weights to court sports and more. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Always makes for an enjoyable visit.
I enjoy the syac for its amenities of the sauna and steam. Also, paying a little more per month gives me that men’s club feel.
The women has their own private workout rooms and the sauna is in the lady locker room. Talk about privacy!!

Everyone is friendly and the pool is great.
Clean, good service, very spacious building and lots of alternatives. There are two large gyms, several workout rooms a 4 Lane pool and lots of programs.

As a former employee I would recommend someone to join the ymca. I worked at the downtown one for 43 and half years and 19 days and been volunteer for 4 years. And have a day named after me Bob Petrillo community recognition day in the city of Syracuse on December 19 th. The ymca is a great place to work and I been enjoying volunteering at the one downtown. I would recommend the ymca to anyone.
The SYAC locker room is the reason I love the Downtown YMCA experience. The private lockers and laundry service allows me to workout three times a day. In addition, there are great people who have provided life long friendships and workout partners!

The staff is super friendly and always helpful. The location works well for me as I work downtown. I love the unpretentious facilities and feeling like I can just work out - no one is showing off, we're all just doing our things!

Convenient. Primarily adults (I don’t like children in locker rooms). Variety of classes and equipment (I hope pre-pandemic levels return!). The urban feel. The old building. The comradery. I love the Downtown Y.
The Downtown location is much less crowded than many of the other branches. The staff is friendly and I feel safe navigating the women's locker rooms and workout spaces.
Proximity to my work and easy access, nice staff and good classes. #1 is the pool.
