Love downtown y.
The woman gym is private small and less crowds, also has more equipment than upstairs location
I'm a member of SYAC and enjoy the various amenities that it provides. The front desk staff is always friendly and courteous.
swimming hours are important
The chance to keep healthy and the friendships one can make, the very courteous people who work there, thumbs up
I love SYAC and its diversity.
I like the facilities muych better than the other branches.
Everything 🤣
The pool is very clean and the lifeguards are nice. Kimilla keeps the women’s locker room spotless. I love the sauna. Also the front desk staff are very pleasant, especially Mya and Ken
I love coming downtown to the ymca for 12:10 classes but there needs to be a variety more and not just one instructor teaching 3 different types of classes. Also instructors should never tell their people how many classes she taught that day already and she was going to scale it down because she is tired or similar comments. This is our first and only class of the day and we want 100% of the instructor. Also the new system NEEDS TO BE CHANGED SO ALL LOCATIONS CAN BE SEEN AT SAME TIME.Otherwise we have to pull down one location at a time.
ANNOYING AND TIME CONSUMING.
On the good side the staff at front desk is always friendly and helpful and a joy to see when I come in.
There was a mouse in class yesterday in studio B
The staff are always friendly and my friends are there.
It’s my home away from home. I’m not sure what’s greater: my fitness experience or the number of lasting friendships I’ve made at the Downtown Y. And the staff are all a big part of what makes this place magic. It’s unconditional love! Thank you, Downtown Y!
The women have their own location that's separate from the men. The small gym and especially the private sauna.
Convenience, I wish they would open the racquetball courts back up.
Friendly staff, several options for machines, wonderful classes.
I do think the DT YMCA DESERVES money for TLC. It is an awesome convenience for folks working downtown to pop in for a lunchtime work out, or before or after work. But, let's face it, it does not have any aesthetic appeal, especially when compared to the palaces built in Fayetteville, Manlius, and Baldwinsville.
Downtown is so deserving of extreme TLC. How can we make this happen?!
I like to play squash there.
Yes ,been a member for 23 years. Great atmosphere, people and equipment. Always loved the variety of activities. I utilize all the ymcas here in Syracuse but the downtown YMCA is my heart. I do miss the boxing ring "I will say ". The freedom to go down in the dungeon( the basement) and spare with friends and members of the boxing program ,separated the downtown YMCA from any other facility or gym.
there are a variety of water classes at convenient times. it’s a wonderful place to meet friendly people from many different walks of life.
I’ve been a member over 50 years that should say everything
The ymca is here to help families and help our community grow. Every sense I retired after serving 43 years and half and 19 days I been volunteering sense which is 4 years total 47 + years and I love it without the ymca I would be lost. I love the new staff that is coming into the ymca . And I already welcome Heidi and Vanessa and case manager Hunter and look forward to helping all them out as now a volunteer. Our CEO Bertram is outstanding I love talking to him in person and on Facebook 👍👍🙏.
Friendly staff. I use the swimming pool and it is usually in good condition, Try to keep it a warm temp
Mostly...the people and the classes at noon are great. Thanks for all you do!
Location is convenient for me.
Staff and members are friendly, helpful.
My 7 year old special needs son was very hesitant to get into the water for swimming lessons and Instructor MiMi Satter was amazing and patient with him. She found a way to convince him and to make it fun!
She’s an angel! ❤️ Love her!
The staff is excellent. Always a smile and hello.
Enjoy the whole y community
The Syracuse downtown YMCA has really been a great place to exercise. People are very friendly and helpful. It is a clean and pleasant environment
I love the staff and the camaraderie between members. The SYAC membership is fantastic.
The separate room for women and the access to the swimming pool.
The staff is very friendly, the hours are good, the pool is usually not crowded, and I can walk from work!
You have a pool!

The only thing that I would like to see is for the YMCA to offer a day pass for people who may be interested in joining. Also, I've called several times to purchase a membership and no one ever calls me back. My sister has also called several times trying to purchase a membership for our brother and non one ever returned her calls.
