I was amazed that it was able to get out the stains that were in basement carpet that couldn't be identified. It also did a great job around the fireplace where ash had been spilled and ground into carpet. We live on a farm where dirt, dust, and other "stuff" from farm related activities gets tracked into the house, I really was glad that it did such a great job getting all of that out of the carpets.
