I have been a customer of Helen's for more than 40 years. The Helen's Team is friendly and responsive. I appreciate that they find a way to fit me in when I have a mechanical that comes up that is not a DIY quick fix and I can't leave the bike for a day or two. This is why they have been around for 90 years. They take care of the customer.
when I called I asked about an estimate regarding a spoke replacement, and the person on the phone assured me it would cost around $30, even after I asked to verify. Then when I brought it in the following day I was dismissively told it would cost double that. No one had any answer for why someone originally quoted me $30.
I went ahead with the repair and when I got home I realized that the bike was returned with the rear derailleur out of alignment. It seems that the service should include making sure the replaced cassette and derailleur should be correctly installed. So all in all the service was expensive and more importantly sloppy
The service was incredibly fast and affordable, and my bike rides better than ever. Thanks so much!

Helen’s is the ONLY place to buy a bike n Southern California and Wilbur is a genius.
I love the excellent service I get in the repair department. They are all excellent, but a special shout-out to Gilberto, who has helped me with my cycle maintenance since I bought my first bike at Helen's over ten years ago (probably longer).
I also like how friendly the staff is, and I appreciate their patience in explaining things to me.
"Overall, I really appreciate the care that went into this. Even though my bike ended up being ready a day after my scheduled appointment, the drop-off process itself was easy and well organized — and living in Santa Clarita, keeping a predictable schedule for the drive over matters a lot to me, so that part went smoothly.
When I picked up the bike, everything had been properly fitted and the specs were reset back to my original setup. I hopped on and had zero trouble adjusting — it rode great right away. The most noticeable improvement was just how smooth the pedaling felt compared to before.
The only small gap: I was told that if I ever notice the gears skipping on uphill climbs, it would mean something needs to be replaced — but since I'm not too familiar with bike components, I didn't quite catch which part they meant. A quick follow-up note or reminder on that would've been helpful, but otherwise I left very satisfied with the service."
