I highly recommend the YMCA because it is a wonderful place for families. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The environment is clean, safe, and comfortable. My son is new and he is having a great experience. He is asking to stay longer and go extra days than the 2 we initially signed him up for.

Josh at the South Tampa YMCA is excellent with all of the kids. He makes sure that everyone has a safe and fun time everyday. Josh is always fair and has provided an amazing experience for multiple years. The entire team of counselors is awesome.
I want to recognize one staff member in particular (Aliyah) who has been exceptionally helpful and accommodating whenever I come to pick up my son. She consistently has his belongings ready and makes the pickup process quick and easy, which I greatly appreciate because I'm often coming during a short break or lunch from work. Her thoughtfulness, responsiveness, and willingness to help have made a real difference for me as a working parent.
As for the overall program, I do have some questions and concerns about the level of supervision and individual attention the children receive. While staff members may be pleasant in their interactions, there are times when I come away wondering whether my son is receiving the attention and care I would hope for in an after-school environment. I don't want to make assumptions without knowing the full picture, but I would appreciate greater confidence that the children are being consistently supervised, treated kindly, and attended to throughout the program.
My son has a great time and the counselors keep everything in order! Josh is wonderful and runs a great program!
First of all Josh is wonderful with the children. He's always working very hard and is amazing towards my son Abel. He always seems to be in a great mood along with everyone else I see working. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Miss Maya is very kind and caring. My son tells us that she is always looking out for him. She is attentive, listens to our concerns, and consistently looks for ways to help us maintain good communication. We truly appreciate her support, dedication, and the kindness she shows our family.

I highly recommend the YMCA After School program, especially because of Miss Michelle. She is truly wonderful, caring, patient, and dedicated to the children. She creates a welcoming and positive environment where children feel safe, supported, and valued. Her kindness and genuine interest in their well-being make a real difference. We are very grateful for the care and attention she gives the children. Miss Michelle is a wonderful asset to the YMCA, and she is one of the main reasons I would recommend this program to other families!
It’s a good safe place for the kids
The program is great to help build basketball skills for young boys and girls. Coach Kevin is awesome and really helped my daughter develop her skills. I look forward to signing her up again.
I love that they are very attentive. Specifically Ms mya. I think that’s how you spell her name. She’s very friendly and my daughter always come back saying good things about her and always looks forward to being in after school care and that’s a pro for me because my child is comfortable around Mya.
The boy always comes back happy and talks a lot about how Ms. Myah and Ms. Rosse play with him and take care of him.
My child says she loves the activities and games they do at the Y. Also the coaches are always professional and gives me updates on my childs day.
Love the structure. Kids always have their homework done. And they have fun too!
We are having a great experience with the Y afterschool program! Keep my son entertained and happy!
