Already submitted the positives, I thought there would be room for suggestions. I am a loyal Santikos and Embassy attendee. I appreciate the new smaller popcorn and soda option. Great for those of us who don't want as much as even the "small" size contains.
Now the suggestions: I really don't understand the reserved seat rationale. My experience so far has been that it just slows down the ticket buying process while uninformed customers try to make sense of the seating chart and make a decision. I don't see how the customer benefits at all. Maybe there is some benefit to Santikos that I fail to understand.
Next, I believe you should rethink your online ticket strategy. I don't buy tickets online because I don't want to pay the extra fee, from any theater. You should want to encourage online buying; it saves you labor and paper supplies. So why should the customer pay extra for something that reduces your costs? I know, everyone does it. It's the Ticketmaster mentality. I would rather you price your tickets appropriately and not add additional fees. Have you considered that maybe you would increase your market share if you offered online ticket purchases at no additional costs? Why would someone need to use Fandango or others if you didn't charge?
I understand there is a cost for the website, but that is largely a sunk cost at this point and is still, no doubt, cheaper than paying hourly wages to ticket sellers.
I love your theaters, especially Embassy, and will continue to attend regardless of your actions on these ideas.
