I have been with Downeast since they took over from Libby oil. I have always had kind, helpful and knowledgeable communication from office staff to drivers and repair people. The website is easy to use. I don't remember having one bad experience over the years.

I do not make it a practice to participate in surveys unless a service is extremely unsatisfactory or exceptionally great. In this case, it is the latter.
When I call with a question or concern, I truly appreciate being able to talk with a human being (vs. talking to an automated answering system) within moments from making the call. It demonstrates that Downeast Energy understands that my time is as valuable to me as their time is to them. Downeast Energy's customer service reps are among the most understanding and respectful people with whom I've had the pleasure of working with.
Downeast Energy's automatic delivery system is timely and works well for me. In my rural locale, during power outages (mostly caused by inclement weather), I depend on my standby generator to keep my household running. And whenever I am in a pinch for more propane fuel, a delivery has always been made within 72 hours of my request at no additional costs.
I have also found their fuel prices to be very competitive compared to other local suppliers. That said, I'm a happy Downeast Energy customer and would highly recommend them to new customers who are looking for fair prices and exceptional customer service!

Broad comprehensive services matched with great responsiveness and service provided by Wanda McArthur out of your Windham office.Her help overcomes your often confusing billing practices Byzantine phone service,and now a very unsatisfactory online adjunct where one is notified a certain sum is due but zero details as to gallonage and price.If this approach is intended to replace paper invoices which include these details without offering the option of continuing paper,that’s a BIG negative.

Delivery of Propane was timely.
I am impressed by the processing of my request for a new line that serviced my new back up generator. First, the team of installers appeared on the morning of the day we agreed up despite the pouring rain.
They were very professional and thorough and they installed the line, connected the gas line to my back up generator and it was done within two hours. They had given me an estimate prior to the day and the actual cost was spot on.
I am delighted with the work, the professionalism and the thoroughness of the work that was done, They were informed and got the job done!
When my electrician came later in the week to go through the operations of the back up with me, he was very happy with the connection work done. Everything performed well during the dry run with him and I was even more pleased that I could rely on you folks for quality work.

Whenever I call the office everyone is very friendly and helpful. The guy who came out to do the inspection of our new house (I forgot his name!!!) was very nice, knowledgeable, and explained a lot of things to me.
Propane and heating oil.
The person I spoke with was very helpful in getting me a fair price per gallon on propane.
Its the local service. We know the staff and they know us.
What I don't like is calling a local number and getting your call center NOT in Maine. People who have no idea about the lay of the land and the rather complex system we have.
If I could have gotten the Windham office directly I know we would have had oil sooner than 6 hours.
