The staff is excellent, very helpful.The facility is clean.The machines are modern, and when they need repair, they're fixed rapidly.
However, I would like to make two comments. First I see, many people, more often men, that do not wipe down the machines when they are done. Perhaps having reminder signs at the entrance would be helpful? Secondly, there are also some people who look at their phones in between repetitions on a machine which can turn into quite a few minutes. I know everyone's rest time between repetitions varies. But when you're just sitting there for 4, 5 or 6 minutes looking at your phone it adds up.

The Y has all the equipment needed for almost any kind of workout and some interesting classes. It's a clean, well lighted place, and the employees, mostly, are friendly and helpful. The Y's hours accommodate most people's schedules. On the debit side, the music in the workout area is sometimes too loud, especialy for folks, like me, of mature years. And people using various machines, usually young people, too often after a set get wrapped up with thier smart phones while others are waiting for the machine. And the place isn't as sociable as other gyms I've used. People tend to stay behind thier ear buds and smart phones rather than interacting with the other patrons. Taken all around I give the place one and three-quarters thumbs up.
Doing water aerobics has been a wonderful experience. Always friendly faces greeting us when we arrive.
I have been to a good many Y's over the years, this by far is the best ever! The fact there is a care option during the day for a workout or meeting or whatever is awesome! All the staff is helpful no matter what the challenge. There is always readily available information to get involved in something around the Y as well as the community. The only negative seen is the trash left around the grounds but this isn't the Ys fault it is just the users. Maybe they do a drawing for a something if you bring in or pick up "x pieces" around the ground to help. "Yes, I know that the good ones don't need any incentive as we just pick up whenever we come across something." Maybe even just add a trash can here or there around the back side or close to could help this. There is a golf cart for use by staff i have seen that could help with collecting if it's a carry out issue when full. Only other thing I see as been mostly a work around is the pool splash area. They have this closed only during some hours its open. The parents are with these small kids 99.9% of the time why not have this open! Yes, there is a lifeguard out there in the deep area of the pool. Yes, if there was an emergency there would be someone to call over right away! Why close this off just due to lack of a guard in the very close proximity of the splash and slide area? Why not take the Disney approach, if you are told to control you self as in a rough play or interfering with safety and don't correct the behavior its a warning then continued it would mean a ban from the use? If it's a liability issue, there is always waivers which should be implied for the shallow area of play for small kids when a lifeguard is say 50' over at the deep swim area. Outside of these small things it's a great place!

I’m a fan of the group fitness classes. I find the instructors to be top notch. The facility is very nice and I enjoy interacting with other members.
I like that it is big, open and airy. It is a great place to be active with the whole family.

I like the variety of classes. There are always special programs like the Book Club that you can participate in.
YMCA new Tampa does an exceptional job of maintaining an ideal water temperature especially in the so called winter season. We greatly appreciate your commitment as many of the local community pools do a very poor job. Hope it helps in driving your membership! Many thanks!

Love this place. It is a safe zone. Everyone is friendly and very helpful. The facility is beautiful and suites my timings. Even all the participants are friendly and kind. There are some shower heads in the main women's restroom that are not properly functional the last I checked that is an inconvenience but can be rectified if a plumber is brought in to fix them. Otherwise, I give it a 10. Thank you for working very hard in making this a very friendly and safe zone. The credit goes to all the staff.
