It’s a great program for kids who want to play recreationally. There are no programs around for kids in middle school or high school to try a new sport or just play casually. Every program by this age is for serious competitors. Not every child is a natural athlete nor does every child start a sport when they are young and stick with it forever. The Y basketball program gives these kids the opportunity to try something they haven’t or to play something they enjoy without the heavy competition other programs have.
Pretty good programs for the youths and adults alike
It’s convenient for my family- we don’t want to be overly involved in sports and we like how our child has one practice a week and one game on Saturdays. We can handle that. The price is good and everyone we deal with is nice. Coach Gene is absolutely fantastic.

I have a child with attention difficulties, and Coach Dennis, Coach Justin, and Coach Connor have been incredibly patient and supportive with him. Thanks to this program, he has improved so much. He is now calmer, more focused, and more confident.
My son has truly found a place where he feels happy, has fun, and learns how to understand and follow instructions. We are very grateful for everything they have done for him. We cannot thank them enough.

My daughter definitely had a rough start because she was scared of the water. Mr Julian was so patient with my daughter and able to reassured her that she was okay (even when she didn’t believe me). They worked through every hurdle and my daughter is now comfortable with the water.

Staff and facilities achieve above my expectations
The instructors are very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about their craft. The front desk staff are always helpful and approachable. I enjoy the group exercise classes and have met some very nice people at the East Pasco YMCA. I also like the updated workout machines and bikes.
The Brandon YMCA through the awesome and compassionate leadership of Dena and other caring leaders like coach Zach, provides the environment, support, activities, and resources families need. My kids and I have found this place to be a one where we can go and experience the feel of community and the motivation to deal with the stresses of life. The bonds and friendships formed at the Y is a unique quality allowing individuals, from children to adults, to have an enjoyable experience each and every time. My son has been provided with an awesome avenue through which his basketball skills can flourish. This has even led to him becoming qualified to join his school’s basketball team. The care, compassion, and support shown by the Brandon YMCA team is exceptional and unmatched. I will definitely recommend this place for any family.
