What do you like about your membership?

I take only aquafit class. I thoroughly enjoy the instructor. I did not rate the Y a 10 for the following reason. I have always come to the 9AM class on MWF. The 9AM class on Wednesday is now Pilates. Thus I come at 10AM which is not convenient for me, but I have been able to adjust my schedule. I'm disappointed that adding a new offering has had to come at the expense of an existing one. Not a whole lot of flexibility, except on my part.

The Y is the perfect place for my husband and I - we utilize the gym - weights and cardio equipment which is what we have time for.

I love the inclusiveness. (Especially the stencil on the doors as you enter.)
I love the YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL sign on the way out.
I love all of the social events for seniors; (my mom is a senior).
I love how friendly and down to earth the instructors are.
I love to see the diversity that abounds at UMLY.
I really love it all.

What do you like about your membership?

I visit UMLY probably 5 times per week on a good week. I love my group exercise instructors and all of the friends I have made taking these classes all of these years. Overall, I would not change my membership to any other gym even though I live 1 mile from Lifetime Fitness and 1 1/2 miles from LA Fitness. It is not about convenience and pretty physical places, it is about the Y's mission, the class offerings, the members, the STELLAR instructors, the people at the front desk who are the face of the Y and all the Y does for the community and helping everyone feel it is their place, that they belong.

Schedules are still extremely difficult to understand. Front desk is not able to answer questions about schedules (eg is class scheduled during the holiday week).

It is great place for families because of the child care, the pool to get lessons and also just to hang out in the pool area on a rainy day. We enjoy the new equipment and the classes, body pump, grit and cycle are awesome.
