Took my dog in for the works spa package and a brush out... they did not bathe him nor brush his fur. He is a chow and has a double coat so its not like you wouldn't be able to tell and on top of that he still had fur you could easily pull out, he had boogers in his eyes and the way I knew they were lying was the hair on his butt. After a bath or brushing the hair on his butt isnt bunched up and it puffed out. They also didn't clean his ears like i asked/payed for either. The only thing I could tell they actually performed was a nail trimming. I brought it up when I picked him up and the AM got very defensive saying the I didn't order a brush out so thats why he looks like that, then the worker at the front desk told her I did order a brush out. After she stopped talking. I have asked multiple people I know if I was tripping and they actually did give him a bath and not a single person said he looked like he was given one. So Dogtopia stole my money and then lied to my face about the services they preformed. This company has lost all my respect and I will never be returning.
Facility clean and well cared for. Staff attentive and knowledgeable about dogs needs. Explained their programs and availability of extra events.

Taking good care of our dog
We have been to several local dog play centers. Yours allows us to see what is happening during the day with our dog. Your staff appears to have some kind of training in animal behavior and in deflecting high energy interactions between dogs. The facility is clean. The outdoor play option is awesome. So far all the staff we have encountered have been friendly and helpful.
The communication at Dogtopia was very bad. My husband and I kept getting different information from the Springfield location. We didn't get to pick our dog up on Easter because of the information that the people on the phone gave me. I also got conflicting information about how long the dogs spend in the crate. My dog is still not acting properly. We also paid to have our dog cleaned but he was really dirty and smelly when we picked him up. I don't believe he was washed at all. We had a really bad experience and won't be going back.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Most of all, I appreciated their interactions with my dog. He was completely relaxed with them and happy!
I think day care prices are higher than similar facilities for a drop in rate. The facility and staff were great and I have confidence it would be a clean and safe place for my dog.
Not overly impressed. I had an appointment and showed up on time but it just seemed that everybody else that came in for their dogs day stay took precedent and attention away from the woman that I was dealing with. Never given a tour of the facility, could not even see past the small reception area that did not even have chairs to be considered customer friendly. Several young girls seem to be running the facility.
When putting my dog into the room filled with dogs larger and smaller than she is, and from my observation, she was afraid. One of the larger dogs continued to jump on her and push her into the corner. I thought surely the girl in the room with the dogs would come to her rescue. She should have been put into a cage until the other dogs were tired of her smell!
Paula, thank you for the feedback. We're sorry you feel Maggie May was afraid. Since she's only been to Dogtopia three times so far, she is likely still acclimating to the new stimuli and getting to know the other dogs in open play. It does take some time with certain dogs to get the most out of daycare. We would be happy to talk with you more about the situation and work to find solutions.
Care of the dogs!
I have been a customer since December 2000. I have been pleased with the staff members and the quality of service they provide. However, since this is an honest request for improvement, I do have one. There is a male at the Charlottesville location who does not seem to have the personality for customer service - meaning very flat affect and I have witnessed his indifference in engaging with customers. I cringe when interacting with him. I feel very uncomfortable with him. He is short in his conversation (not friendly or helpful) and has a lack of eye contact when speaking with me. I chose not to say anything with Hollie due to the welfare of my dog (retaliation from this individual). You may want to remind him he is taking care of someone's family member.
Your friendliness and understanding of different pups and they're needs.
Super friendly and welcoming. Got a tour. Other doggie daycares do not offer a tour. Dogtopia is more than keeping your fog in a room with other dogs. This company spends times with the dogs by playing with them, giving the dogs treats, doing agility with them and having unique “fun” days for the dog. I love it!
