Student Testimonials
The roscoe village location is incredible and ALMOST all of the teachers have been amazing. They lead their classes with amazing energy and are so kind and welcoming. HOWEVER the big exception to that to me has been Dave Y. He leads HPF with so much apathy that it makes me not want to be there. He doesn’t do any of the flows and sounds like he’s reading off a monotonous script he memorized years ago and couldn’t care less about. He did not care at all to check in with students after class who had left the room frequently due to the heat. Really disappointing considering how amazing all of the other teachers are. I will continue to go back to this studio, but never to Dave’s classes.
Sophia was a great teacher! Class was super intense but fun!
I love the classes I take and the instructors I take classes from. I feel like I get a great workout while making it fun.
Nice studio.
Better with shades installed in the outer studio
Good teachers, well-kept facility, good vibe.
Studio could be improved by installing blinds on the windows in the studio facing the parking lot. If you take a class in the late afternoon the sun can be blinding.
Other suggestions: Replace the ripped awning over the entrance, provide towels and mats as a perk for purchasing a membership, fix the sticking shower door in the men’s locker room.
I was visiting New York from out of town in the middle of a seven-day trip and GiGi's C2 class was exactly what I needed. Only four people were there which made it nice to have more space than if it was crowded. GiGi incorporated many additional optional balance challenges which I really enjoyed. It was good to stretch out and keep muscles loose. I was able to rent a mat and towel which was convenient but I was annoyed at $20 cost to attend a class in New York. I already pay $179 per month which is a steep price so it was disappointing to have to pay extra to take a class even though I already pay a significant amount.
Teresa D was an amazing teacher! Her cadence, cueing and sequencing were spot on! She has a gentle way about her as we moved through a very challenging class! The heat was perfect, and the cool down with fans was a welcomed added touch. And can’t forget the playlist.. loved it! Thank you
Brittany is always warm and welcoming! Her classes are always perfect for how I am feeling for the day!!!
wendy is THA BEST! she is so great at setting up for success and staying quiet for second round of bow in HPF. she was the first teacher i experienced at core power and totally inspired and encouraged me to do teacher training 2023! yeah, this is just a big shout out of love and appreciation 😍
Only thing I would recommend would be placing little stickers on the ground with numbers for the "spots" in the room. When I have attended full classes, it has taken a while to get people set up comfortably in the room.
Everyone is so welcoming and supportive. I love how the instructors guide you through your practice and take the time to make sure you’re following through each movement correctly. I have had positive results in my overall health and body strength since joining CPY, Maple Grove.
Instructor mediocrity rules!
Not only at Winnetka, but at the other studios at which I practice. I own my practice and thus don't rely on the instructor to teach me, just to turn on the music at the start and tell me class is over at the end.
Instructor mediocrity allows me to interchangeably take any HPF class at any of the 5 suburban studios at which I practice, with no weighting of "Is it taught by a good instructor?"
I've voted with my wallet for the past 800+ classes taken at CPY and have done so since 2017. The studios, studio cleanliness, studio proximity to my home, HPF class offerings throughout the day are the reasons why I continue to be an All Access CPY member.
Another advantage of instructor mediocrity is that the classes that I take, 90% HPF, 10% StrengthX, are seldom crowded. I can set up my mat and have plenty of spacing away from other students.
Another advantage of instructor mediocrity is that I'm able to enter the studio early enough before class starts and perform my prep stretching prior to the start of class without having to form a line prior to the start, in order to enter the classroom. The pre-class stretch prep allows me to give the practice my best effort.
I love the balance of efficiency with the more mentally calming aspects of yoga. Somehow, the CP2 flow seems to get it all in!
I love coming to the studio and generally I would recommend it to people who enjoy yoga. The locations are very convenient for me and I love most of the instructors who I have worked with. The reason I wouldn’t recommend to everyone is that the cost of a membership is quite high given the lack of amenities in the spaces. Specifically I think it is a bit ridiculous that while paying $150/month for a membership I don’t get access to taking out yoga mats or towels for free (and at the back bay location one of the showers has been out of order). It’s a pain to always have to carry around a mat and towel before work or when I need to run errands afterwards but I also don’t want to be charged an extra $5 every time I come in when I’m already paying a lot.
Teacher and class
Love the studio, instructors, and time slots for classes. Can't wait til more strength classes become available.

There is no better feeling than leaving a Sculpt class! It is truly the 60 minutes of my day that I look forward to most. I feel so accomplished and proud of the sweat I put in!
