The thing about gyms is with proper maintenance the equipment can last for a very long time. This gym is well maintained. However, gyms occasionally need to invest in new equipment. The gym needs to invest in two new benches to replace the one on the left and the one on the right in the dumbbell area. The one in the middle is fine. I moved to Ypsi in 2017 and they were bad then. Someone is going to get injured on them. The other thing the gym needs to update is they need to get rid of every cable handle that aren’t steal, and invest in new ones. They work but most are at the end of their lives. Bryant Fitness handles are like $20 on amazon and are amazing quality and would last a long time. Minor updates but necessary ones. I believe if these updates were made it would be the perfect gym.
The gym is still pretty much new, has SO much more in terms of equipment and machine options than any other gym I've been to, and the amenities are plentiful. Honestly, though, I hate the locker system. I like the concept and the technology involved, but the number of times I get locked out of the locker and need to get an associate to help is extremely infuriating. Especially if I am getting out of the shower and have nothing on but a towel. (I resolved it partially but always just leaving my clothes out in case it happens again, but still... that's a mess sometimes.) It could be a user error in some ways, but in the end, it's not a very good user experience and there's very little tactile feedback for me to be sure the number I pressed actually activated. I'm sure this has happened before as I sometimes am not sure if the 'press' actually activated the number or not. Who knows. Doesn't affect the score I'm giving, but since I have an opportunity to share my feedback, this should be noted as it's my only true gripe about this gym.

Very clean and spread out
Clean gym, friendly people. I do however go to West Bloomfield more frequently. The gyms allow me to use Silver Sneakers. However the music is too loud to enjoy working out and conversations with other members. Most of us wear ear buds, headphones etc. still we can hear the gym music. Please turn it down! Thank you.

Everything is clean, the pool is kept clean and maintained well. Thinly negative is that the lanes are too narrow and row of flags are needed on the ceiling above the midline of each lane so backstrokers know where they are in the lane.

Powerhouse is the best. They have the best class schedule one could ask for. A lot of great classes, all with amazing instructors.
What I really like about the Gym is that you are the only one that has the Precor elipticals. All other gyms are going to the cheap off brand life fitness elliptical. Having Precor Elipticals at your Gym really puts your Gym into the elite tier please dont ever get rid of them.

I like that we keep bringing in new equipment but am confounded by the missing weight stack pins. Is someone stealing them, or are they breaking and waiting to be replaced? Seems to go in cycles, with several at a time missing at once.
