Clean gym with modern well kept equipment and a positive atmosphere. With the level of facilities and other programs/classes that the YMCA offers I see it as the best gym membership for the money in the Triangle.

I joined the Y in February 2024 and it changed my life. The LiveStrong program (for cancer survivors) was my initial class. I felt accepted, understood, hopeful for the first time since my cancer journey. Staff, volunteers, members are all very gracious, loving & helpful. I’m a HUGE fan of the Poole Y.
The instructors are excellent . Love the classes and interactions with all staff. Everyone is great. Wished they would have line dancing for evening classes. Most people work during the day and there’s only one class on Wednesday during the day. That class was fun on New Year’s Day. Thanks for all you do.
The YMCA After school program is fantastic. They plan and organize great activities to keep the kids engaged and get them outdoors and active as much as possible. The crafts that they plan are also great. My daughter gets mad at us when we pick her up early and she does not have enough time at after school care.

Classes and cleanliness

As a regular, it's nice that to know all the staff and they know you as you walk in.
Members are respectful of others. There is no feeling of "hurry-up, get off so I can do that machine!" here.
The classes are not "Impossible" to get in unlike the Kraft Y. On the other hand, there are about half as many classes offered

The Poole Family is small but offers a good variety of things to do ie classes, equipment, tracks etc. Everyone is friendly and helpful.

The Poole Family YMCA has a great group of workers. From the greeting at the front desk to those taking care of the facility, all are great folk.
The facility is always neat, and clean. The great variety of classes is amazing.
Really like the classes offered throughout the week.
