As a member of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA for about 40 years, I can say that the Y has been a life changing journey. From the first time I walked in the door, i felt like I had a found a community of people who were friendly, caring, professional. The staff; from the customer service person the front door to the Executive Director, were engaging and gracious. Over the years I came to be involved in many of the opportunities offered by the Y. My entire family have been members and program participants for decades ,

The Y has great class offering, instructors, and facilities. Many of the class offerings repeat several times a week so member can maintain a healthy regular program.
Outdoor and indoor poll options are also a great option.

My daughter (6) has had a great experience! She has loved the community aspects - singing songs, etc. I loved when she told me that she went in a canoe and had to deal with any trouble that came up herself! She has tried new things, learned new things, and increased her self-confidence and independence. We look forward to returning!
I love that the kids have outdoor fun all day, play traditional camp games, sing songs, learn important values, and are free to be silly.
Also, the camps feel very well-run and organized.

The camp information and procedures have been clear and organized. My kids have loved the outdoor activities, especially fishing, canoeing, and BB guns!

The counselors make an effort to get to know the kids. At first, my son did not want to go but he has made friends now and enjoys it!

Everyone who works there is so incredibly kind and caring! They are great role models for the campers, and my kids come home happy and tired every day. This is our fourth year of spending some portion of the summer at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA day camp, and we'll continue to incorporate it into our summer planning until our kids are too old to attend. (I'm trying to plant the seeds for them to become counselors there one day!)
