I truly enjoyed how Brittany Hall helped me through the process of enrolling my child in afterschool. She was very polite, knowledgeable, and prompt with answering all of my questions about the program. I also enjoyed the staff of the afterschool program. Most days during pickup my child did not want to leave. He was so engaged and enjoying his time in afterschool with staff and friends.
Atmosphere cleanliness and variety of options
Second time visiting a ymca of the triangle and this location has the best customer service. The front desk ladies were super sweet and helpful.
We love the Y! It’s been such a gift to go there with the family for swimming or by myself for classes. Everyone is helpful and kind. It’s such a positive environment
Water aerobics enable me to exercise despite history of spinal stenosis. Gwen and Beth challenge me with cardio and core work that would not be able to do on land.
The other experience that is meaningful is the social aspects of exercising, talking, and developing friendships with others. Many have become significant friends.
Convenient classes. Knowledgeable instructors. Friendly atmosphere.
It's a well run club with very nice people working there and working out there too!
The staff are wonderful, responsive, helpful, and so good with our kids. LOVE THIS PROGRAM!!
Friendly staff! good teachers of fitness.
community values.
Family swim. Also the showers.
i recommend YMCA to anybody. The chapel Hill-Carrboro Y is my favorite Y because I like the classes. They have courses for older adults. There are many congenial and friendly people there. The instructors professional and well informed.
Friendly staffs.
I like the amenities, the pool, the steam and sauna rooms, showers etc. Mostly I use the pool for exercise at the Y
I love the “big family” feel of the Y - I work out here and see people of all ages. My kids also do the rewarding swim team. It’s a place that brings our entire family great joy. It’s clean, has new equipment, isn’t pretentious, just all around a great addition to the community.
I love the pools. They are wonderful!
I appreciate the family and community focus of the ymca. The ymca promotes health and wellness over just having a certain physique. I’m grateful for the missions of the Y.
I like the variety of strength training machines.
I do have a request: would you please provide more lower weight free-weights on the workout floor? 3lbs, 6 lbs, 7lbs, including 7 to 10 lbs kettle-bells?
I like working out somewhere that has classes for my grandchildren. Otherwise, I would be sitting around waiting while they were in their activities.
It’s a friendly place!
Good customer service and care

It's a frequent location in my weekly schedule.

The price, it's a great value for my family of 4. We have access to the gym, the track and, the pool. We don't use the weights but they too are available. A family membership is around $100 per month. If we visit weekly, we get more than our monies worth. My spouse and oldest son actually go 3-4 times a week. So we appreciate the value.
I love the Y, but one thing continues to frustrate me. People don't follow traffic flows in the parking lot. I have seen a number of very close calls because people are driving in the wrong direction. Perhaps we could use some additional signage to encourage people to follow the traffic pattern.

I live in Chatham County and am a lap swimmer, which means I have to drive to either the Chapel Hill-Carrboro or the Ingram (Sanford) YMCA location to use the pool. The pool and staff in Chapel Hill are excellent ... however, the pool schedule leaves much to be desired. It's a huge investment in time for me to drive (45 minutes one way), so I rely on the website and app to give correct times. Using the Y as an adult is a humbling experience, because so much focus is placed on kids and camps. And while that's not a bad thing, it is when the pool is closed because of camps. Case in point, on November 1 at 2:30 I arrived to swim laps knowing the pool closes at 3:45 each day. I changed and walked into the pool deck and was met with a million kids and the awesome Nikki who told me the pool was closed. She asked if I called, and I had called that day, and of course go the main clearinghouse that the Y forces on everybody nowadays. The sign on the locker room door said the pool was reserved for Y Programming on Election Day and Veterans Day and School Holiday camp swims, from 11:55 am - 2:05 PM on Tuesday November 5 and Monday November 11 ... but that 2 shared lanes were available for members. Yet, I was turned away. I have photos for documentation. It is ridiculous to me that in order to swim, I have to check the app, check the website, call the number and then insist I talk to the actual branch before leaving the house. Come on. Do better.
