Variety of classes and convenient location
My son is autistic and I had him signed up for multiple weeks of camp. Naturally I was a little nervous because in past experiences there have been programs that weren't as educated or understanding with neurodivergent kiddos. That was not the case here.
Although they are Not able to accommodate for 1 on 1 support, when connecting with his camper counselor as well as the Director Katie, I felt that he was in good hands and that they would still be able to support him in challenging situations he might face.
In a challenging moment my son had both Directors Katie and John truly went above and beyond to connect, redirect, and support my boy. It brings me to tears thinking about with how big of a contrast it is with all of our experiences before the Y.
I am happy to be a member of the Pearl Street YMCA. Thank you Katie, John, and all other staff for all that you do in support to your members.
I love going to this Y, and all Y’s actually.
I am 76 years old and I am trying to regain health & function after auto acident (not my fault) and head injury and neurosurgery !
I know that exercising is one of the best ways to stay alive and to regain function.
T H A N K Y O U !
I do regret though that it is listed as the
Y “M” C A…as someone with multiple lived experiences of big mysogyney (afraid if I check spelling of mysogyney, that my email so far will disappear.
I should know how to spell it ! GEEEZ )
With present day mysogyney alive and unwell, the Y’s name should NOT BE
Y “M” C A.
How about
Y “H” C A ? for Humans
or
Y “C” C A for Community !
or other ideas, for sure !
We gotta change this World… if only one little step at a time.
Sincerely,

Very family friendly, love that the kids workers care, great swim facility, predictable workout equipment, and good group classes. My wife and I love Stroller Strong, and we love running into friends and community members there!
Everyone is nice. The staff is happy to see me. In our world where there is so much unkindness, I love going to a place where respect for one another is the expectation.
The new weight room and pool are so nice!
I love the new pool
The staff, the options, the location, the family atmosphere.I feel at home, safe, encouraged, and happy there
My kids loved swim days and the Liz Rocks rock climbing wall! As a parent I loved the easy drop off and not being reprimanded for dropping them off later on in the day. The young counselors were always happy and a positive influence. Will be back next summer!
This year has been a significant improvement over the last 2 years. The kids found the programming more engaging, better activities, and a better overall flow. They really enjoyed camp this year
Kiddo had a blast every day. The group size, activioand counselors were great.

It’s in my neighborhood and provides a great facility for aqua exercises. The aerobic and weightlifting equipment are all very well maintained, fully functional and clean. The staff’s happy smiles and greetings are the best start to a day
Each day is varied, my kid is tired at the end of the day and I can tell she enjoyed herself.

I enjoy the Family atmosphere and acceptance. It seems there’s a welcoming of dialogue and perspective/goals. Three years I walked in with a simple goal a cardiovascular exercise. Now, after we retire, and find king as well. Probably something changed in me to allow me to slow down and treasure friendship.
The location is convenient for us, the weight room equipment is new, and I enjoy the group exercise class I take. I do wish the facility could synchronize all the clocks, though.
Trainers, front desks are warm , friendly, knowledgeable . Work t make each of our training sessions fun and challengng. Listen to questions and help everyone improve.
