Well yeah... I'm just comfortable there. But I don't go into the new building. I detest the new building and its locker rooms are very hard to get around in. Are they being cleaned more often than they were before? The extreme privacy of the heavy, totally confing doors encourages people to trash the stall they've been in- wet toilet paper and garbage and food all over the floors.
In the old building, I use what's left upstairs and downstairs. I really like pickleball on Saturday and Monday evening. I love my painting class. I love power yoga. I workout on the other days. I miss the pool, for sure. I'm grateful for the old locker room downstairs at least.
We use basketball and teen gymnastics too.
I'll be looking for whatever painting, sewing, and drawing classes you have this summer if at all. I'm worried teen gymnastics won't run through the summer. I have to justify the membership cost by getting both my teens to commit to an activity there.
Nice weight rooms
I enjoyed the Salsa class a lot.
Classes are great and employees are very nice and helpful!
There is a class for everyone!!
I love the adult dancing lessons, especially the ballet.
Everything! YMCA and Pierce County truly builds a wonderful community and allowing opportunities for kids who may not be able to afford to be part of the arts. I love that we see Neighbor‘s kids from school kids from daycare kids from when she went to private school. We see everybody there we make new friends. The teachers are great and very knowledgeable and give so much love and talent. We are grateful to be able to have this experience thank you, YMCA.
the ballet with eamon was excellent
I love dance, ballroom isn’t offered many places. And to now have this opportunity is so fun. And being able to dance it with my daughter has been a great experience too. I hope ballroom and swing will still be offered and give it a real chance to grow.
Fun, educational, creative and social
Super friendly staff. Jen’s spin class is fantastic. New exercise gym and pool are amazing
engagement
I enjoy swimming.
water fitness classes for seniors
I have recommended people to join the Y but they decline because of the sign up fee. Because they have tp pay for family membership ($180 per month) on top of the signup fee which is just to much. My recommendation would be that if someone signs up for a 'family' membership you should wave the sign up fee for them. Charge a signup fee for a single membership only.
Thank you for your time. Heather Bachman
Good except the TRX needs to move to a room with more anchors. Also the multi purpose 2 room keeps running out of rings, rollers and balls for some classes
I play pickleball from 1:30 to 6:00 on Saturday and also on Monday evening. I go to watercolor and acrylic with Melissa on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. I go to power yoga with Dat. Other than that, I use the upstairs track and what you've left us in the treadmill rooms upstairs.
What I like about the painting classes is that Melissa is such a good influence for positivity. It's an hour of total immersion into the moment and artistry.
At first, I thought Melissa was too nicey nice, but after a couple classes I saw her better. She really radiates love to everyone. She has real passion and interests that she uses as an instructor.
I'd sign up for painting with other instructors, sure. It's a really good thing to spend an hour doing. But Melissa just adds extra positivity to my day and I'll miss her if she ever leaves. (I'm kinda surprised how much ...maybe... I needed that positive influence. -almost embarrased to say...)
Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who make arts at the y possible. It's very much appreciated and their work does not go unnoticed.
The uniqueness and variety of the classes offered, but more than anything, it’s the gentle way that the instructors handle the kids in their class that we are most grateful to see.
My children Liliana and Luca stated, “ I like that we get to be creative and the teacher Ari is very nice.”
I love the all the choices of interest and available times classes are offered
Pearl Street has great instructors
Miss Emily was wonderful with our daughter for her preschool ballet classes. She would talk for days about how wonderful Miss Emily was and how she loved dancing with her.
First of al, the disclaimer: I joined because it is offered free of charge by my Medicare Advantage health plan. I am there mainly to use the room with the resistance workout machines, as I get my aerobic exercise from other activiies. It is well-equipped and is rarely crowded. I must confess that I preferred the old Precor machines which were retired when they installed the new Life Fitness machines when they opened the new building. The staff are very friendly and the trainers provide orientation sessions to those machines when you are new to them. I also use it in the wet months to practice Tai Chi as I do not have enough room inside my house to do so.
The variety of drop in exercise classes that I love (barre, complete conditioning, boot camp, step) as well as things my husband loves to do which are different from me.
I really love the new remodel. It's clean, and the staff is pretty awesome! Keep up the good work!
The price for the complete access to a wide variety of physical exercise opportunities!!
I like the pool weight room sauna indoor track!!
The staff is always helpful and available to answer questions!!
The classes for the elderly!
The variety of programs and ages of the members
The new aquatic area is nice. The locker rooms are uncomfortable though since there really isn't a place to change without being around other people. My child was surprised when she saw young & old women just walking around with their hot pockets hanging out and their pubic hair dragging on the floor. Other than that, it looks great.

The community that I have created
