The Pearl Street Y is near my house, the new section is fantastic and they have an activity for everyone.
Bagful news facility!
Good facilities, friendly people, inclusive atmosphere
The new facilities are a major boost to the Landscape of Tacoma. I am so proud our community could make this happen. The pool in particular is spectacular for ALL ages.
The new equipment and so big!!
The new pool site is great, spacious, & welcoming
New Showers - SAFETY CONCERN
We visited the YMCA new pool facility and loved it. Thanks for this resource in our community. Did notice the new showers have almost like a closet closed type design. Appreciate the privacy especially with our three small kids, but the door spanning the floor to the ceiling struck me as odd and a safety concern. Without visibility of feet at the bottom I could see someone having a medical emergency go unnoticed, a child getting locked in there unnoticed, or other nefarious activities. I would think you would want feet visible in case someone collapsed or in case you needed to get in and unlock the door during an emergency.
Staff was very professional and Nice
The facility was impressive
I’m missing the glute kick back machine. When I spoke to one of the trainers he said several people have also asked about it. There doesn’t seem to be an equivalent. Can we bring the old one over?
New machines and view is great.
The new facility is nice. The co-ed sauna and steam sauna is not ideal due to the amount of people crowding into them. Also, even though it’s common sense to not wear street shoes on the benches in the sauna, you need to put it on the sign so people know and you can enforce the rule. Thanks!
please make a bigger mens locker room!!!!!
besides that its a beautiful facility
I feel like everyone is very friendly, meaning the staff. There’s basically something for everyone to participate in as a member.
The variety of fitness classes and equipment, the diversity of members and the inclusive, friendly, community feeling.

Excellent equipment and variety of classes. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Clean facility.
It's a great place to be with like minded active people
The upbeat staff. The feeling of community
I love the Y community that brings all ages and abilities together for a common purpose. Connection and health is vitally important to all humans to care for themselves and each other. Many staff know us 5am lap swimmers by name and greet us every morning with a smile opening up at 5am. I am grateful the Y provided a resource for my son growing up in programs and continues with those stepping stones now in high school as a student swim and water polo athlete. We can't wait for the next gen at the new Y opening to give even more opportunities!
Inviting, friendly, clean and inclusive.
Need more TRX straps in the upstairs Multipurpose Room 2. There are never enough for the Tues Thursday class

I've been a member at many YMCAs over the years and the Pearl Street Family YMCA is one of my favorites. I love the location, that there is a pool, the variety of equipment, and the friendly staff that work there. I would recommend the facility to anyone looking for a welcoming and comforting gym to work out in.
The community, the care and dedication of the staff.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is always clean. Can hardly wait for the new building to open!
The friendly people (staff and patrons) I primarily use the pool so knowledgable teachers, various levels of classes> These have helped me through several health issues (senior member) including recovery after hip replacement and building strength and balance from another problem.
Sense of community. Friendly staff.
