VERY impressed with our swim teacher Josiah at the Richardson YMCA! He was patient and encouraged our children to try new skills. He clearly explained each component and gave specific, kid-friendly feedback.
We will be definitely be back next summer to continue our kids’ swim lessons!!!
Fun for the kids, and I like that the days were back to back as oppose to spread out like at swim schools.
I did NOT like that the instructor missed a couple of days and then didn’t know if the children had advanced, and he did not advance much at all with the children. I appreciated that another male instructor advanced lots and helped the children know how to swim half way through the pool and back—it was a sight to see! The kids are capable if pushed a little and I wish they all did that.
The instructor talked to me after each class to give an update on how my daughter was doing. She also gave a report card at the end with what she'd learned..I also love the small class sizes.
The instructors almost always have high expectations without being mean or angry. My kids love them and are learning.

The positive encouragement of the instructors to help the kids gain confidence and also have a positive relationship with water while also encouraging safety. My kids can't wait to come back!

My daughter loved this more than I expected. There were a lot of activities - wow! Despite the heat, she loved the camp and was well supported by the counselors.
She complained that the restrooms on site were not usable, super stinky and unsanitary and that she was advised by the counselors to use them as little as possible. This seems solvable!
It was also tough that the drop off/ pick up was tough to use the restroom and it wasn't clear in enrollment that they would just sit outside in the heat waiting sadly. I thought the before and after camp times would be IN the YMCA, contained safely.

We had a great experience with COL. Our daughter participated 2-3 weeks every summer since Kinder and just wrapped up her last year now that she is 13. Each year was great and she loved the little summer-time community she built with the other return campers. Thanks for having such a cost-effective, helpful, and fun camp that we could depend on every Summer for the last 8 years!

The variety of workout equipment and the friendly staff is what gets me to keep coming back. I made a pledge to get healthier and stronger this year, this YMCA is making it a much easier goal to reach
