The facility is great and well cared for. I regularly attend the group cycling classes during winter months and foul weather, and am disappointed that you no longer have the M-W-F 10AM classes, apparently lacking instructors. I also swim laps, th pool is great, and use th weight machines for upper-body work.
The staff there is great, pleasant and responsive
I also use the spin bikes in the hall next to the studio and listen to an audiobook. That area needs a cooling fan. The big video screens in the studio are great, during classes keeping my mind of what is hurting during the workout.
In good weather I prefer to exercise outdoors. Fresh air & sunshine are a tonic for th soul!

Well maintained with a good staff and good members.
Has great classes, and good machines. Locker rooms need a facelift though! Staff is always wonderful.
I love all of the YMCA's but there is something particularly special about the David D. Hunting branch. There's always a warm greeting and positive energy when you enter and then the facility, staff and view are just wonderful.
Variety of equipment, nice facility, good hours of operation, free classes
It’s a very welcoming environment, clean, and all of the group instructors are very friendly!
Very friendly staff. Building is very clean. Recently extended the hours which is nice
Beautiful facility
The staff is always welcoming and friendly. We love that the pool is warm. It’s just an all-around great atmosphere.
The expansion of hours, friendly help and new free weights.
I love the Hot and steam room. The employees are very friendly and the facility is always clean.
Great facility, friendly people
Steam room.
Very nice facilities, can't be beat! Nice calm low stress workout area.
Clean locker room and shower area. Excellent Sauna.
I love the diversity of the Downtown YMCA...both in staff and membership. The facility is fantastic and the hours are perfect.
Love the downtown Y! Such a hub for health and wellness in the City. My favorite part of my membership is the classes and would love to see Cardio Drumming come to the downtown Y. Other difficulties include parking and the price of membership.
Love the pool classes and walking the track.
Great class first time doing combat loved it
Friendly people!
Very clean, well organized, great staff!
Friendly staff, great facility
It’s the gym of the people. There’s a ton of diversity in shape, size, color, etc. No matter who you are, when you walk into the Y, you feel like you belong there.
I like the classes in the rooms. The gym for class I don’t. If they get moved there I will not attend and many others won’t either.
I’ve made some good friendships there as well.
You have some very nice workers also. It’s nice to talk to Rodney and Miss Katie. They are some of the nicest people. Makes coming to the gym easier.
Rodney at the front desk is he BEST face of the Y! Give him appreciation and a raise!
I also enjoy the classes: Yoga, WERQ, Body Pump, Total Body Strength
Great location and great people!
Welcoming staff. Art, Masters swimming coach is top notch, helping all skill of serious swimmers improve their skills and goals. He even helps out all swimmers in pool. He definitely is a hidden gift to the Y.
Diversity of members
Good facility. Good hours.
I love the community that is built through the classes!
I love the expanded hours which better fits my evening workout schedule. Now I can get a full workout (one hour) and enjoy the hot tub, steam room and sauna before close. What a great way for me to end my day and prepare for the next!

I like that they are inclusive. I have so many friends that are part of the LGBTQIA+ community and the YMCA has a reputation for being a christian organization, so there is hesitance when somebody from the LGBTQIA+ community thinks about walking into the Y, especially during this current social climate when christianity is situated in direct opposition to my friends and family who are queer. I asked one of the people at the front desk a few years ago about whether or not they accept transwomen at the Y, and the answer was a completely unbothered, "Yes." There was no silence, or look of worry - they had no issue welcoming somebody from the LGBTQIA+ community, and that made ME feel safer going to the Y, even though I do not identify as part of that community. As long as the Y remains a truly welcoming organization, I will continue to come and continue to endorse the Y to my friends and family.
