Runs well. Very clean.
Nice staff - wonderful place
I go to swim laps only. It is convenient for me and there always seems to be a lane open when I get there after 730am.. So far so good.
I really like the diversity of classes and the teachers/coaches are truly dedicated to giving their best in their class.
Low key, relaxed, so many options to stay active
Community, excellent fitness experts, down home experience.

Our daughter had swim lessons at Park Street YMCA and we were very pleased with the program and facility.
I like the fact that it's it's diverse.It's older, it's younger places very clean.What
The team is helpful and supportive and the facility is great. There is a wonderful sense of community every time I go. Grateful to have such a great YMCA!
Friends I make and spend time with there.
I think the membership options make going to the gym possible. Staff were inviting, warm friendly. I was able to access staff to ask about the machines. I didn't join because it's not for me. I need a trainer and currently can't budget for that.
Classes are easy to sign up for. Trainers are Awsome
The people- the ones who work here & the members
I love the choice of the group fitness exercise classes happening throughout the day on weekdays and happening on Saturdays. I really wish the Park Street YMCA offered more water exercise classes after 4pm on the weekdays or on the weekends. There are so few water exercise classes and a lot more group fitness classes. Since I became a member of the Park Street YMCA, the only water exercise classes offered have been Aqua Fit, Aqua Fit Hi, and Aqua Fit Move it to Music (this is the only water exercise class that doesn’t conflict with my full-time work schedule, so it’s the only one I take).
The Senior exercises and the World Dance. And I plan to do senior swims in 2 weeks.
Staff and classes
I appreciate the variety of classes for all levels of fitness.
The difficulty of parking is something I warn people about if I do recommend the Y to them.
I'm glad that the Y does not pipe in the dreadful music so often found in gyms. but I wish the Y was a little more strict about enforcing the No Phones rule. Ive got my own ear pods and I have no desire to hear someone's else's loud conversation on the phone. I can understand when someone calls while you're working out, but they should not stay on the phone.
In the cardio room, I wish the Y would maintain the 3 stationary bikes. It's not that they don't work, but each one has its own problems.

it’s like the beating heart of the diverse montclair community

I just started personal training with Jovens and it has been a wonderfully, inspiring experience. I am encouraged without feeling that I'm in bootcamp. He is very patient while challenging me to reach my goals. At age 72, I have renewed my commitment to regular exercise after a very long hiatus.
