Always on top of everything that we need to be good at our profession. One suggestion...for those of us brokers that are in the father south and west suburbs, live CE classes that are closer, Kendall and Kane Counties. Traveling over an hour for live CE is not the best use of our time. I end us taking live CE with Fox Valley at Waubonsee Community College most often, but really like what Main Street has to offer as a member.
Amazing
The Mainstreet (MORE) Association has provided a lot of training opportunities, certifications, and a great web site. It is so helpful to have the contract forms available and load them in mredllc and connect to docu sign or dot loop for electronic signatures.
I had belonged to the Northwest Association before the merger. I had participated on the Education and Attorney/Realtor Committee for the 6.0 contract. I have always been impressed with the Education Department and staff. Several of the MORE employees have been active in speaking at WCR meetings.
The email newsletter updates are very helpful and informative. Topics such as fair housing, leasing screening, "just housing", and changing laws are very helpful. Law Day has always been one of my favortie events. As Realtors, there are a lot of risks, and disclosure issues that can become a liability. I am still amazed how many Realtors don't require sigining of dual agency forms before showing their own listings.
We still have a lot of problems with the Private Listing Network (PLN) in mredllc. Agents do not allow showings, but continue to show it themselves. If the home gets activated to new status, it is already under contract. Some listings have been in PLN for years. I have always recommended that no listing should be in this service for more than 30 days. I know there are some changes proposed. It is not in the best interest of the consumers to play these games. Sellers receive the best price when their home is exposed to the open market and all potential buyers!
After we move past the current pandemic, I would like to see more CRS classes offered in my area. I attended the annual CRS Sellabation in Orlando in February. The networking and quality of speakers is amazing! My main office is in Arlington Heights. I live in Lake County. I utilize your Libertyville and now Rolling Meadows locations.

Obviously with the current state of shelter-at-home, our expenses are high (MLS fees). It will be interesting to see what happens with our annual dues and the cost of our CE. i am toward the end of my career but I wonder how many agents will be able to remain in the business during this pandemic.
Association Fee increase yearly is becoming too expensive.
