My kids and I love it. My younger son takes swimming classes and he enjoy it so much. ♥️
It has a great community and makes getting healthy fun.
The hours are so helpful for working families and the teachers are wonderful!
I honestly don’t know much about the program or activities. My son just started Kindergarten and attends the after school program. He loves the program and is always happy at pickup.
Very good place
Marina is amazing with the kids! My 3 year old can’t wait to go every week.
The hours and for my kid the opportunity to do different activities.
convenience, clean, multiple offerings, community service
Clean, affordable, plenty of equipment and the staff is generally very knowledgeable.
Staff communicate very well and are so friendly! My son loves the games and activities that are planned for the kids and looks forward to going!
Love the water based classes
Great staff and nice variety of classes and times
INCLUSION. We worked with Jerry in the water wise program and he is fantastic!
The staff is friendly and my kid always has a fun time while he’s there
Lots of art and free exploratory time, they get outside as much as possible, great teachers
Our daughter is loving her experience at the Y. Very little room for improvement and I don't know what control you have over the snack offerings but that is one of the few things she complains about. ;-)
There is so much to do and going to different parts of the building to do different activities is a plus. Especially with the weather we have in New England. Gives the children a place to.get out their
Energy in a safe way.
My child LOVES the activities and social time with friends during the after school program hours. And, its right at his school which is super convenient for all. The price is reasonable as well for after school care
The instructors are wonderful and obviously really love kids. I appreciate their flexibility since the current classes have the baby and preschool classes staggered rather than starting at the same time like they used to.
The Salem YMCA's fitness room equipment, and different programming offered is excellent. Signing up for different classes is easy and instructors are great.
One outstanding challenge is the parking. Little by little, the city has claimed different spaces so that there are less spaces for YMCA attendees. Sometimes, I drive over with the intent to workout and there are no parking spaces. I have to turn around and go home or go elsewhere (Community Life Center). This occurs all months, not just during October.
great instructors!
Just am
I think YMCAs are awesome and I love all the services for so many in our community.
I swim and use the fitness facilities. Staff are great and equipment is often being upgraded.
Solid instructors, good facilities, multiple classes
The new Fall line up of classes is great. I especially like the new Gentle Fit & Balance, which might be mis-named as it is a better workout than you'd think from the title. Rebecca's chair yoga is wonderful still. I am still trying a few of the different weight/strength training classes to find the right fit. And I love Tania's Zumba class. The Fitness Floor has a good selection & they are a good option when class times do not work out.
My favorite class is the Fit For Life class at the Greater Beverly Y - a great mix of warming up muscles, comprehensive strength training and lots of stretching. If you could get these teachers at Salem, it would be fantastic (Lee and Vinge). Their classes are always full.
The Y is a great facility and a great value. There are lots of machines and the classes are great. I only wish there were more yoga classes offered.
It fits me. I use the Fitness Center, the pool, the spin studio, and yoga. I enjoy them all.
Love the yoga classes. Add more!
I like that it’s not over crowded…

Friendly staff
