There is a wide range of group instruction and the facilities are kept spotless. The classes that I have attended are inspiring and the instructors are always motivating and knowledgeable.It has such a friendly vibe and it’s a fun place to visit.

Group exercise indoors beats solo jogging on public roads any day. I don’t have an Olympic size pool in my apartment. And Aqua Zumba is fun and social, taught by the incomparable Calandra Solo!

Everything about it is great from the minute you walk in the door. It's bright and sunny, there is always someone nice at the concierge desk, and the entire place is spotless! AND we can go to the other Ys which I haven't done yet but will be doing soon!

Swim teachers really instruct to the child’s ability. My great granddaughter really enjoys her swim lessons.

The Y in Gloucester is very clean with an open format. I love the cardio and machine workout are and the way you keep the cardio away from the weight areas.
I'd like to share some ideas if I may. Please consider these suggestions which may help with the customer service experience. CLEANING: (1) Add more "Please wipe off machine after every use) signs at or on each machine. It does not good if "Please clean the machines" signs are located on the walls. If people don't clean the machines, why would they go the wall?
Prevention is possible with simple signs on the machines. Not everyone will abide but I bet more people will be aware and may feel embarrassed if someone points it out to them.
EQUIPMENT PROBLEMS 2) Number the cardio machines! Why do I the customer have to walk the staff person to the appropriate machine. I've suggested this to several people most think its a great idea. Someone said that they clean the floors and they don't want to have to put them back in order. Even if you clean the space every night, you don't have to put them in sequential order. So many times, I had to count the machine from left to right so I could then tell the person at the desk where the machine that didn't work was located. I see this as a "simple" fix. Not only will it make it easier for the customer, but the staff, and the cleaners.
2A) No cell phone while using machine signage on attached to every weight machine. The number of times young people are scrolling on their phones while patrons are waiting is inappropriate and inexcusable. Mostly young adults.
I see these as simple solutions that could have great impact. I appreciate you listening. Thanks to the awesome staff.
The exercise is top rate, but it’s more than a place to go to workout. It’s family inclusive and community centered.

I love the Cape Ann Y. I live in Rowley but travel to Gloucester (bypassing Ipswich) for your water classes. Ruth, Vanessa, Cassie, Calandra, & Chelsea are all FABULOUS. Sorry to say Judith - not so much. She's lovely but her class is just not a workout.
You communicate well and Cindy at the front desk is always on the ball. I really appreciate the fact that the online schedule is mostly up to date.
