Member Testimonials
In February, I missed a couple weeks at the Gloucester YMCA because I was sick. When I returned, it felt like an episode of "Cheers". Several of my instructors and many people in my classes asked about my whereabouts. It felt so good to be missed! This gym is like a home and the people are a family.
I am continuously motivated because the instructors are so knowledgeable and helpful. It is like a personal training session in our classes. I love how they explain how to do each exercise task the correct way as well as explaining which muscle we are working.
Cassie Carlson is my personal guide during our workouts. She is always looking out for me (and everyone else), making sure that I have the correct form as well as providing modifications when needed. Just the other day, she made her way over to me during class because I was not doing my push ups correctly. I appreciate all of her expertise and support.
Amy Longo always brings such positive energy and inspiration to push hard in my spin classes. I feel so energized in her classes and grateful for her!
Chelsea Hale impresses me each week in "Cycle Strength Fusion" with her ability to teach both spinning and weight training at the same time. I love that she gives us a different workout each week. She does a great job making sure we have good form with humor. So fun!
Since I work out in the evenings, I rarely get to have Vanessa Lee teach one of my workouts, however, she subbed a class recently and I was so excited. Talk about someone who is motivating! Not only does she create amazing workouts, she offers many modifications for the ones we can't do. She is awesome!
I recently converted my individual membership to a family membership and am so excited to have my family join the YMCA family. Everyone I spoke to in the membership office was helpful.
I have never met an instructor at the Cape Ann Y who isn't top notch. They are motivating, talented and knowledgeable. So grateful for this experience!
It is a great place to be!
Terrific facility.
I am very happy with the facilities and cleanliness. Staff could please try to keep folks from sitting on machines and on phones. Especially a problem with teens in the afternoons, but not just teens by any means. The chest fly machine seems to be a particular place to sit and contemplate the world.
Thanks

Excellent facility. Staff and offerings are great. I particularly like the aquatic group exercise classes. Chelsea is awesome
Like the facilities and the friendly staff and members. I live in Beverly Farms and usually go to Bev.Y daiiy. They are remodeling the mens and womens locker rooms. Mems have to use new pool changing area...hardly any lockers, water all over floors, need to change behind doors...very poorly planned hence my visits to Gloucester for at least 2months. I heard the locker rooms there will be expanded. Poor layout for sure. There are 2,500 Ys in USA. They need a standard book of recommended layouts and engineering instead of wacky locals doing their own thing. Start by cutting the head honcho's 350 grand salary. Outrageous for a non-profit. Bet he never leaves "work" exhausted and even has a suit at Cummings Center. Post this for a breath of truth.

good, clean facility; nice staff
