Your new director, Kayla, is terrific. Lessons are better structured. Teachers are better prepared to follow a more strategic learning pattern. They were good before. They are better now.
Splendid facility, varied programs, expertise of staff
I like the classes and the facility is nice
I recommend the Y to everyone!
It has made a positive impact in my life!
Instructors are wonderful. Faculty beautiful. We are very lucky.
Beautiful facility; friendly helpful staff…
Appreciate variety of classes…
Cause I work there and enjoy it so much
Very convenient. Nice people working there.
I am limited to pool activities due to injury. The staff is always so helpful and friendly. The pool activities are great. I can tell that there is a lot of attention trying to allow for each group (serious swimmers, group classes, children and families). They make the most of out there time and pool availability. I only wish there were more classes.
New, clean facilities - a variety of programs for many age groups.
Instructors are top notch. Facility is clean and amazing.
I love the people, the friendly staff, and the gym is very clean which is very important to me.
Great facility! Great classes offered!
Beautiful facility. Variety of programs and equipment. Friendly staff.
It keeps you healthy and strong and active. It gets you out of the house so you can socialize and exercise with friends and stay active and not isolate. I don't stay home on the coach and get inactive and sick. I love having somewhere to go everyday that I enjoy and that I can see friends in the community. It's a great place to be and I am really grateful I can come. The pool is my favorite place to be at our ymca.
Beautiful new facility, friendly community, great amenities.
My son has significantly progressed in his skill level in such a short time. His instructors are wonderful and really seem to have a great approach. He loves the class and looks forward to going each week.
The staff are helpful , friendly and professional and the building is clean.
Great classes, great instructors,
My nephew needs a place to go for physical therapy.
I love the Cape Ann Y - It is so clean and accomodating. The staff are incredible. The pool and equipment are fantastic and the air purification is great!
The North shore Cape Ann YMCA offers great equipment friendly and helpful trainers and staff. Dr. Curtis MindHealClinic.Com
The location and layout of the facility are very well designed. The upstairs workout area has plenty of cardio machines so you don't have to wait and having access to the TV while working out makes the time more enjoyable. I'm impressed with the cleaning team. The bathrooms are spotless and in general the workout areas are clean. Unfortunately some adults don't wipe down the machines after working out but the signage does help mitigate the problem. It would be helpful to have the staff monitor young kids who utilize the cardio equipment. They aren't aware of safety issues such as setting speed limits and or using the incline features. MOST do not wipe any machines after use. I'm very impressed with the number of older folks that use this space. It is encouraging that we feel safe knowing that staff is available to assist us if needed.
Clean space with lot of classes/equipment
The location is ideal. Friendly staff. Clean facility with lots of options/variety. Traffic was moderate in various times of the day.
The Y is so welcoming to all people. It is a friendly environment to be a in. I have enjoyed coming for over 10 years. During that time I have made many new friends who also feel the fest I do.
It's big, new and offers many different kinds of activity. I do AquaZumba and when I leave I am energized. Water is life!
Friendly helpful staff, very clean well maintained facilities, up to date equipment and classes.
The only issue has been the broken abductor/adductor machine and the time it is taking for repairs.
If I were to make a request it would be for mid- morning cycle classes on Monday and Wednesday.
It's not only affordable for families, but the beautiful atmosphere actually encourages me to come as often as possible and keep advancing my fitness goals. One suggestion, however: there are still quite a few barriers for people with limited mobility (including those with canes/walkers). For instance, treadmills are great therapy for those people, but they are dangerous to access without personal assistance or a platform/short stair. Having one or two treadmills with an access platform and "priority" sign would be a fairly simple thing to do and would greatly broaden participation. Similarly, there are very few places on the 2nd floor for those folks to sit down and rest or stretch, which discourages them from even approaching the machines. There's a huge need to service these people, but very few gyms willing to think about the issue beyond a few "senior" exercise classes.

Pros:
Nice spaces, good equipment, friendly and helpful staff, nice atmosphere, rarely crowded
Cons:
Yoga room is almost always locked.
Yoga room is sometimes monopolized by one person's individual training, so no one else can use it (even though there's plenty of space to share)
