It's a great organization and it supports many people across the community. The older demographic also needs these services to remain active and vital in the community. The Y is like a second home to me. I look forward to going every single day and leave feeling so much better than when I walked in the door, even when my workout might not have been the best! The staff is so friendly and helpful and I enjoy having gotten to know many of them over the years. There are such a great variety of classes and I love trying them out. I have made some great new ‘Y’ friends and look forward to seeing them when I go to the Y! Now that the Y has been part of my life for two years, I can’t imagine it not being part of my life forever.
Love the fit for life classes. They have made an incredible difference in my life both physically and socially.
Many of my friends already belong. We talk to the others about joining us there.

I genuinely love the YMCA, it’s the best value for the dollar I spend, hands down, and my family and I say that every time we go. I really appreciate being able to use multiple locations depending on what I want to do: the pool in Ipswich, aerobics classes in Beverly, and the spin room and hot yoga in Gloucester. The front desk staff are always welcoming and kind, which makes a big difference. I’m 50, and I’ve also become friendly with regulars in their 60s, 70s, and even 80s, seeing them stay active is incredibly inspiring and a great reminder of how to age well. The Y has become a core part of my routine, and I honestly couldn’t enjoy it more.
