The Y in the North Shore has excellent equipment, great class choices, friendly and helpful staff. The facility is well-maintained and clean. And, you can't beat the membership cost!

They offers many, many great classes as well as has so much community involvement. It is a fantastic organization.
The one thing I would add as constructive feedback is that the treadmills should be cleaned more thoroughly, especially on the bottom. They are frequently very dusty on the bottom.

Great equipment Location

The staff are friendly and there are lots of classes and lots of space to workout in.

I want to particulary commend the young woman who works as part of the custodial staff. I see her on most weekday mornings when I swim. She is extraordinarily diligent, energetic and hardworking and is always friendly. She covers a lot of ground and doesn't seem to miss any nook or crannies. She is definitely a wonderful representative of the Y. I only wish I could tell you her name!

My daughter, who is a great user and advocate for the Y, convinced me to join. I have been so pleased with the Fitness for Life class I take ( as have many, many others), THe class is friendly, without being pushy - its made up of every kin of person from Gloucester. I just think its wonderful!!! Have yet to explore the other offerings of the Y!!

The new Y is an amazing place! So many programs, a pool (too warm), a great workout space (too warm), the EGYM, etc. My only complaint (besides too warm) is the locker rooms were ill-designed (wicked tall lockers, narrow showers, etc.) Plus so much parking and the staff is welcoming and helpful.
